Alvin, you were in our thoughts yesterday. I know it was the toughest day of your life. I just wish we had words that would wipe it all away. Even though you will always carry yesterday in your heart, time will help dull the pain. Just know that you have our love and support. I am sure you can call on any of us at any time for support and a listening ear.

I pray that God gives you and your family comfort at this time.

Yesterday, I had to do the toughest thing I have ever had to do. Burying one you have shared 38 years of love and friendship was not easy. It is hard to realize you will never hear their voice or feel their touch again. Linda spared us the decision we were all dreading to have to make on putting her in a nursing home and watch her wither away.
My children and I wish to again thank all you guys for all your prayers and thoughts. Don, special thanks to you for representing the Class of 66 and being there in our time of grief. Sandy, many thanks to you for your sweet phone calls and keeping our friends informed. Also, thanks to the class of 67-69 reunion committee for their visits and support.
 Love all you guys,
Alvin, Dylan, Angela and Daniel Rogers

Sandy McM, Buddy, Jack, Christie - Kathy attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches (Nack-a-tish), LA, in the early 70's.  While I was still stationed in N'awlins during the early 90's, we went up one weekend for the annual Christmas 'Festival of Lights' - that was a major treat!

The following year, we talked some friends with an RV into going back up there.  If you like the 'City of Lights' in Marshall, TX, you'll like this as well or better.  Major fireworks show over the Cane River Lake, along the downtown main drag, with the entire steel bridge across the river lit up with fireworks as the grand finale.  I thought I was gonna OD on fried meat pies, jambalaya & dirty rice.  I guess the beer saved me.

In the movie 'Steel Magnolias', that last scene with the kids & easter egg hunt was filmed along the river bank near downtown.  Great place for a special trip, but if you need nearby accommodations, 6-12 mos. in advance is not too early to plan for the Xmas festival.

Kathy also makes a great gumbo, as well as crawfish pie.  Now, I'm hungry - bye!

Christie yes A good Sally Fields move. trivia Nacodoches (oldest city in Texas) and Natchitioches are named after twins of a Caddo Indian Chief. The Chief would have lived along the Tx-La border sending Natchitioches 3 days ride into sunrise and Nacogdoches 3 days in sunset. Nacogdoches was a Caddo Indian settlement till Spain put a mission in 1716

McM...Toni is correct...I was just so busy in SC that I couldn't get                   to my computer. But please don't send me candy...you know why...

And finally, Mr. McGee. I believe the last time we played golf...I believe my team beat your team...and if my memory is correct...your first tee shot was way...way...way left and mine was down the middle...so think again my good friend.

Thanks Ada Ann...may your team have good fortune as well...and I do know that it is only a game...but for us it is a magical season and it's really hard not to believe...

Michael Scott, the traffic reporter on KSCS (in the zebra copter) is from there too!
Glynda and I stopped there for lunch on our way to FL one year. Some pretty good eating. I think the place was owned and run by Paul Pruodume (sp) the famous chef in New Orleans. We didn't tarry long but looked like some neat shops there.

Send 'em thru, Jack. I just wasn't sure it was really you....I'm a spamaphobe, so sometimes I get too restrictive with my email filters.
