Place: Richardson - Time to change those clocks!

Comments:
I spoke with Gordy earlier.  He's been back in the rehab center since Monday night and getting heavy duty PT twice a day.  He said he can tell his leg & knee are getting a little bit better each day.  Still has the drop-foot but it's a tiny bit better too.  He said he's working as hard as he can so he can leave by next Fri.  We'll see.

Don't forget to change your clocks tonight or 1st thing in the morning.  We Must Spring Forward 1 hour!

Yes Carol, Larry & Martha Lewis live in Dickinson, TX and they were actually rescued from their front porch steps of their home by boat back in Aug of 2017 when Hurricane Harvey sat over Houston for so long.

I'm about to call Gordy so will update later.  I do hope he will be able to attend Mini as he is really a people person and he's going crazy in the rehab place!  I may have to help him break-out next week! [eek]

Oh, I do hope that Gordy gets to attend the mini! What could be better medicine than being with good friends?
Wow - Larry and his family have been through so much! (Weren't they caught up in the Houston-area floods a few years ago?) Hoping for much improvement in a timely fashion. πŸ’•

Sorry, I've been so worried about Larry I forgot to update on Gordy.  Gordy was doing good at the rehab center for his right knee replacement.  Then late last Friday (2-28) he began hemorrhaging.  They took him to Medical City.  He was there until Monday afternoon (3-2) then he was taken back to Rehab.  The problem was caused by 3 different Drs all giving him blood thinners!  Too much!  He's back doing rehab twice a day and is trying his best to get out of there.  But, it seems the Dr doing the knee surgery may have nicked a nerve because he has drop-foot on his right foot.  Now he can't drive until that clears up.  He's interested in coming to the Mini because he knows he can't work until he's much better.  I told him I'd send Don to pick him up and then take him home.  Poor thing, he can't stand being so confined, I'm surprised he hasn't gone AWOL.  I think he would if he could drive!!

Now for Larry update: There's a little good news this week.  As of late last Fri they moved him to the Kindred Acute Care Center in Clear Lake.  Martha has posted that for the last two days he has actually spoken a few words and seems to know who she is but is still very confused.  But he is no longer agitated like he had been for the previous 10-12 days.  He is now more calm and we're praying that is a good sign.  As Martha said, "Baby steps, one day at a time."

Yes Paul, it still amazes me how rude & ugly people can be when they're hiding behind a keyboard.  Social Media has given everyone the ability to trash people without even looking at them and in many cases be totally anonymous.  [frown]

On a high note - Richard Carter contacted me to inquire about the Mini.  He's going to try and make it!  Also, Louis Langford contacted me too.  Would be good to have them both attend.

Yep, this is one online place I consider to be safe.  It just pains me to see how many hateful folks are out there.  We didn’t realize it was that bad until the internet gave these cowards the opportunity to show their true colors.  The anonymity of internet user names has allowed them to spew their poison without much risk.  OK, stepping down from my soapbox.  I just hate to see people I care about suffer abuse. 😑

Carol - I can't imagine what insensitive jerk would say something mean to someone who just lost their best friend.  That's the bad thing about FB, too many jerks wanting to spout-off. Just delete their post or if they were once a "friend?" delete them.  I'm so sorry someone was cruel to you when you were feeling so sad.  You are safe here on our GB. Love to you dear friend.

Paul - I know that you're not on Facebook, and I didn't post here about losing Ollie Kitty. Thank you for your kind words. You did make me smile...and I will add my agreement that Ann is one sweet lady.
Everyone - I reread my comments from earlier today; they were worded poorly. (In my defense, I was crying while I was commenting - now, too - so these comments may end up being as poorly worded as the original.) I TRULY am grateful for the concern that so many shared when I lost Ollie, and I shouldn't - and I won't any longer - let that kindness be overshadowed by the thoughtlessness of a very few. Period. End of story. Case closed. Carry on. πŸ’

Anybody else see the "news" story bout the new SOC??  Seems they have a busted sewer line. Stuff bubbling up from the ground. How many millions spent and they didn't check the plumbing??
Wonder what could have caused that? Think something that happened in 1966 could have caused a crack and the line finally gave way?? Na, no way.

Now that is funny!  What's the old saying, "it's all in how you say it!".  LOL   Kinda like me describing myself as "only being 72"!  Rather than someone describing me as being elderly!!  Just saying.
