Comments: Sandy McM: While at church on Sunday, I glanced behind me and almost fell over. I thought it was you sitting behind me. I sat there waiting for our "fellowship time" to greet you. I was all excited that yet another SOCite was at our church (Cottonwood Creek Baptist....the largest church in Collin County. Everyone thinks that Prestonwood is the largest....but Prestonwood is in Denton County). Ronnie Norris (SOC '65) also goes to our church. Anyway, when fellowship time came, I turned around to greet you and suddenly realized it was NOT you. Looked a little like you. But, was definitely someone else. I sat there a bit disappointed for the rest of the service.
Comments: Hi, Bob! Our girl is doing just fine. She is excited at being asked to be a bridesmaid in our son's wedding, which will be Sept. 13. She is doing great in graduate school and is really getting into her job as a court-appointed child advocate in Walker County. We are planning to be in Abilene next weekend (not this weekend) to workout plans for our son's rehearsal dinner at Perrini's Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap. Yummmy. I can hardly wait. How are you and your family doing since the recent loss?
Comments: Dale, you're dragging up the caboose. Ada, were you aware that Debbie passed away last year? I saw her mother's obituary in the paper, about two weeks ago. I thought they were older than my parents so I was surprised that they were both still living. Bobby Roper sent me a wrist courage for Easter and the Biggs brought it to church. I cried because I was embarrassed and didn't want to put it on. I have often wondered what happened to him. He was a very handsome little boy. We were in second or third grade at the time. Mr and Mrs Biggs are deceased. Janice and Linda still stay in contact with one another. Cindy (one of the twins) was on Extreme Makeover HE, she and her husband have a camp for children with needs. Sandy married a golf pro, Steve Smith. I think they are still in Texas. I was going to tell Richard that the girls just got prettier in Ca since last week. Ashley loves it there. She is coming back in March for her mother's birthday. Purchased her ticket before she left. No plans to go there yet. She has already suggested that I move there. I forgot about the riding stables. And yes, I loved to go there. Love to ride even though I was a little scared. I lived third house from Kiest on Dugald, the Reedy's lived up the street, corner of Dugald and Sutter. The Biggs were one house over from us and my best friend (grade school), Sandra Jane Mundy, lived four or five houses up. It would get a little confusing at times with me being Sandra Jean McMakin in the same grade and living on the same street. Thanks for asking about Jana. She is improving everyday. The doctor has been amazed. Prayer can do marvelous things. They gave up the little foster boy that they had planned to adopt. We were all very upset about that, but it was probably for the best. Dillan was autistic and it would have been too much stress on her.
Comments: ....please remove the "at"......

Comments: JD - Can't your dog wear little pet footies to keep his feet warm?
Comments: Ada, The Richmond I live in is a suburb of Houston on the SW side not in VA, so I know nothing about Richmond, VA except what I have read in books. BLB, good to see you back posting.
Comments: To answer all the weather related questions: Ada...the temperature yesterday started out at 47 degrees yesterday at 10:00 a.m....that's 47 degrees above zero for those in DeSoto. By 7:30 last night it was 2 degrees above...and we woke up to the minus 5 with the windchill at -35. I don't know if it is coming your way...I was asleep during the weather report last night. SJM...we don't own FORDS up here...LOL so we don't have any starting problem unless your car is very old and you don't take care of it...which lots of people make the mistake. Most of us are civilized and have 2 and 3 car garages...but I have known some people who use a heated dip stick that keeps their oil warm and usually helps. But as a side note...many of us have automatic starters (my wife-not me) and she warms her car first..I don't...but I have automatic seat warmers and in a few minutes I am warm. I think that brings all up to date...please accept our open ended offer that Kathy and I would be honored to have anyone come and visit us at any time (winter)...we have room and are gracious hosts...lots of food and liquor as well as entertainment (my wife..not me). But we would prefer that you visit in the winter...then you get the real Wisconsin!!! LOL

My Sarah will be 17 on Valentines day,Jackie will be 8 on mothers day and John 20 on Fathers day...Unbelievable!!
Comments: Come on now do the locomotion
Comments: JWT, We lived in Chester, VA from 72-74. My husband was the dentist at the Federal Reformatory in Petersburg...in the Public Health Service. Really liked the area and almost stayed there.
Comments: J.D., you really had a drop in temp.....how many degrees was the change? I hope that is not headed my way. Be sure to wear gloves so your hands don't get cold.
Comments: Sandy McM, yes, I lived on Narboe...across the street from Bobby Roper...near Debbie Durrett (Mr. Durrett died last week). I was one house away from Bonnie View. Didn't you live on the Kiest end of Dugall...near the Biggs family? How does your daughter like Cali? Any trips planned to visit her? How is Janice's daughter, Jana? Did you go to the Magna Vista Riding Stable?
Comments: J.D., it's 30 here this morning, my f-250 is warming up. How do you start cars in those temps? Do you park inside a garage? I assume it takes a lot of time to deal with the temp and snow each day. |
