Comments: Rick - Have you done any of the touristy stuff while in CA? What a pretty place to be.
Comments: Hey, Sandy Joe: I knew David and Adair owned an Arby's in Abilene; but, didn't know which one. I will have to stop by there. It is not far from my son's house. He lives in the Wylie district of Abilene, about 3 or 4 miles down the highway from that Arby's. I bet that is the Arby's my son goes to. He loves it. We have heard great things about Perrini's. Ryan (our son) is General Manager of an independent oil contracting firm in Buffalo Gap. So, he has eaten there many times. He said it is great. We may grab a bite there when we go to make the arrangements.
Comments: McMakin, you stay in trouble, but not with me!
Comments: Psssss....JD, I think I'm in trouble with Sandy and Sandy I'll get back with you later. I'm in the middle of cleaning the kitchen floor and paying taxes. Bye BTW..I think you have brain freeze, sorry.
Comments: McM...you tell me..we've talked...does it seem that I have suffered from "BRAIN FREEZE"? ![]() ![]() ![]() If so, then please fly to Kenosha right now...I left my water running on the lawn this morning...and can't remember why...something about an e-mail I received from one of you people..you know...the ones in DeSoto that need everything explained to them each time I add to the GB.LOL ![]() ![]() ![]()
Comments: JWT,Smiley Holland's was the name, you guys are right. The Holland's lived in the back of the cafe really nice people. Special 5 of the best burgers in town for one $ buck. Arthur's was good to the bone too. Now I'm getting hungry let's not talk about Webb's HOT LINKS
Comments: No Sandy McM, they are not from McGee. But once again - - I ask that you either ID yourself with an adequate name that is recognizable OR put your correct city & state. If I can't figure out who you are . . . then others can't either. It's a constant battle to keep ANON posters (some of them are really ugly & nasty) off the site without having to spend time trying to see if something posted (which makes no sense) is from a legitimate SOCite!! And NO, "South of Oak Cliff" is not considered an address! If I can't figure out who you are, you'll probably be deleted. Especially if it's not an appropriate post. Anyone got any idea what Juan was trying to say???
Comments: I assume Guess #1 and Juan are one and the same person. My guess of this mysterious person would be Sandy Joe McGee.
Comments: Linda P, Mom calls me Rick. It's wendy here today but at least it's not raining.
Comments: JWT- You are right about those Holland's hamburgers. Best I ever ate. As I remember it there was Hollands (behind a store front), Safeway, Lisbon School and the V. A. Hospital on the four corners. Buddy, you might be thinking of Arthur's restaurant just a little south of Safeway. They did have those huge servings of meringue pies. Chicken fried steak, fries, salad (3 dressings on the table in plastic squeeze jars) and pie... $1.29 Tea was free with a meal.
Comments: "grown like a run away freight train"????
Comments: Buddy, I think that there was a small cafe named Holland's or something like that on Ann Arbor just around the corner from Lancaster. I seem to recall that they also made really gooood hamburgers there(cooked them on that flat grill). Yum Yum, I can still taste them now.
Comments: Ronney, when you go to Abilene next week, stop by Arby's next to the Mall. David and Adair McDermott have owned it for 30 yrs. His kids are now running the business. That's a great steakhouse in B. Gap.
Comments: I read your churches website. The history and growth is quite a testimony to the life long members. It's apparent many have been on their knees. Your church has certainly been blessed.
Comments: Sandy McM: My preacher's name is John Mark Caton. He is GREAT. He is about 43 years old and very dynamic. I like him because he is not afraid to tell the gospel even if it steps on toes. We are at Hwy. 121 just east of Stacy Road. Come visit us sometime. Check us out at www.cottonwoodcreek.org We just moved into our new 2,200-seat sanctuary a few months ago. We will be adding 1,400 seats in the future. When I started going there, it was First Baptist Church of Fairview and was a small country church. It has grown like a run-away freight train. |
