Memo To SNL: Suzanne Darnell's church is called "Church of the Red Rocks".

You may be confusing it with that little bar down the street named "Ernie's Church on the Rocks"?

This GB not only Rocks, it also Rolls quite quickly!!  Yesterday was 7 and a half pgs!!  Wow! No wonder we're the most active GB from all the classes.  This new GB was activated Sept 1, 2007 & we've already hit more than 3300 posts!!

So Don, you'll have to be a little quicker on your after thoughts as the 29th was more than 10 pgs ago!!

aaaahhhh Sedona . . .  wish I was there right now! Still the prettiest place I've ever been.  The name of the church where Suzanne plays is The Church on the Rocks

And, Sandy McM, piano lessons on the corner of Bonnie View and Kiest.  Miss Francis....she gave lessons there in the summer and at WBM during the school year.    Did you go to Dr. Hamby at Chester Clinic for a dentist?

David M., for blues, have you ever been to Hole in the Wall...in North Dallas.  My brother in law, Bob, plays with Big Daddy and the Swell Tones.  The family (Wingate) lived near the Vaughns (Stevie Ray and Jimmie).  Bob remains friends with Jimmie and was with Stevie Ray.  Several years ago went to Jimmie's wedding in the hill country.  Bob played with several groups in the 60s in Oak Cliff...from Kimball.

Suzanne Darnell does look like her Mother.  What happened to Don Darnell?  What about the Van Arsdales?  Didn't they live in Cedar Crest?  Yes, I remember the Dollars.  Bobby Lichestine also lived on Van Cleve, Cindy Smith and Bobby Pinkston...had older brother named Scotty.  Memories......

Thanks for the picture, John.  She looks just like her mother.  I think Dorothy is still alive.  Do you know?
Suzanne married a Professor, after that she begin to act different.  She and Sue Zan had been best friends, they were  in each others wedding. Suzanne  never had any children.
Sue Zan never was a teacher . She went to North Texas, but didn't finish.  Married Jerry Averitt, divorced when their son was small.  She then married Don Cureton, which was the pastor of Cedar Crest Baptist Church.  They moved to Beeville for a couple of years, where he was pastor of a  church, then moved back to Dallas.  They had a daughter and divorce when she was very young.

Well, Sandy, I had not heard that Suzanne Darnell had become a principal as part of her career path. At one point she moved to San Antonio. Then two years ago I caught up with her by email. She was/is living in Sedona, AZ and works as the organ player at a scenic church. Strangely, she is very reclusive when it comes to her SOC ties. Almost like she's trying to leave it all behind. Here's a pic from 2006: http://people.consolidated.net/swsw/darnell_crr.jpg

Was my info wrong on your cousin Sue Zan being a teacher?

John, that was Suzanne Darnell that became a teacher, than a principal.  Sue Zan died in the mid '80's, she left a son and a daughter, which my aunt raised.  Bobby lives in Red Oak.

Memo To Sandy McM: Wow, your childhood neighborhood brings back some familiar names. Karen Dollar, Sue Zan Reedy, and Nancy Easter were all in my class ('63). We are still looking for Nancy, so if you happen to bump into her ...

Sue Zan was a knockout beauty at SOC and went on to become a teacher, but died fairly young. Her older brother ('61) was a character. In his senior yearbook his accomplishments were listed as "Pupil 3 years". Do you know what became of him?

Ms. McM, not a problem, in 10 years I will probably be working for one of them. They will control the labor market in Texas. Their educated children will have a large voice in our business, Govt. and schools.
