LouAnna Chambers had two sisters.  Laura Sue, Adamson '60 and Marion SOC '64.  Marion was married to Joe Vining, the older brother of Jerry Vining for a while.  You are correct about Jimmy.

No, that wasn't the same family.  He went to Adamson and I guess Holmes Jr. High, the socialite school.

Oh, and Tommy went to one of the lessor Junior Highs  something like Boude Storey or something like that. Certainly not up to " The Sarah T Zumwalt School"

Tommy lived one block North of Ann Arbor. Street started with an "E" I think.  He had a much older sister and 10 year younger brother and sister ( Randy and Carla ) Some might say he got meaner later. He moved to Denton our Soph year. Was a good athlete.

Dale, where did he go to school?  There was a family up the street from me on Dugald that was named Bender or could of been Binder, they had two sons that were mean as hell.  One named Tommy and the other Jimmy.  Ada, do you know who I am talking about?  They lived on the big corner with the huge fountain in front.

I was at Glendale one day when Tommy Binder got kicked out of the pool and told not to return for urinating in the pool.

Linda, You didn't tell the moral of the story; Don't ever call your friend when she's washing her hair, she'll have to call you back.
That's where I lived when I was born, Elmore!

Ronney - I think I ate at that pizza place.  Wasn't it one of the first in Dallas?  I hope I didn't get sick.

What's the thing with urinating in grease, dough, etc.  Girls don't do things like that.  Why are guys so fascinated with that?

Karen RL and Toni RJ - The Chambers said that they moved to Singing Hills in the 60's, but didn't live there too many years as it was rapidly changing?  LouAnna said that growing up she lived on Elmore and her old house still looks pretty good, but that when a brick came through their front window, it was time to move.  Then is when I think her parents moved to Singing Hills.  And then after she was married she and Mr. Chambers moved there too.

I gotta go; my cat is trying to type on my keyboard and might mess it up.  Last night, she was trying to turn off the green light under my computer screen.

Thanks Ronney - I can now proudly say I never ate pizza there while you worked there.

I remember the Banana popcicles, and the chinese fire drills - I tried to tell one of our kids about them also and they could not imagine why we would want to do that! And also the sugar cube.  There are really a lot of things I had not thought about in years.  Wish I could be here to next weekend, but this trip is already paid for so I have got to go.  Ya'll take notes.

Hey, Linda P.:

Can't you just see someone urinating in the cooking grease. I hope he stood way back. I can just see the grease popping all over him as he did that.

I remember one of the Sr. 65ers in the band telling me about his job at a pizza restaurant and how he urinated in the dough.

When I worked at Shakey's Pizza Parlor #1 (at Northwest Highway and Abrams Road), we would stomp the dough with our shoes on when the dough was rising. And, we had dough fights after hours when the manager was counting money in the office. Then, we would quickly pick it all up and put it back in the dough bin for pizzas the next day.

Sandy Joe:

The last I heard of Bill Roberts was that he was living here in Allen. I cannot remember who (at a reunion) told me. That was probably a decade ago, though. I don't see his name in the phone book.

Sandy McGee - Why do you call Buddy Capps "BayWatch Buddy?"  What a bad boy you were to look up girls' skirts.  Someone should have kicked you.  And to admit it!  I remember you working there, but not buying shoes from you.  Bakers was my favorite shoe store as they carried affordable narrow shoes.

This morning Rudy and I had breakfast with LouAnna (HURT) Chambers and Darrell Chambers.  Anyone remember them?  I still call him Mr. Chambers and her LouAnna, as she put it, she's known me since I was a baby, and I've only known him since they got married in 1961 (I think).  Mr. Chambers was my homeroom teacher and math teacher at Holmes.  He was also the band director.  They live by Kimball. They look great.  LouAnna is Denise Hurt's cousin.  Her younger brother is Jimmy Hurt (67), and a sister MaryAnn (I think 65).  Mr. Chambers said that at one time in the 80's (I think), that Holmes was the biggest middle school in the country; 2500 7th graders.  I can't imagine that school being so big.

Drove down 67 going home the other day and Kips is now B&B Home Cooking and bakery.  I haven't seen the front of it, only the back.  I believe the Taco Bell at Illinois and 67 is still there and I remember a story circulating in high school that one of our classmates worked there and urinated in the grease that the tacos were cooked in.  YUCK!!  I never ate there again.

Sandra, I'm going to call you now.  Hope you answer.  Yea, I remember cutting up at the theater.  It was so fun being a silly girl.
