Comments: Deb, I was really just trying to get an ol' Storey guy to respond. I thought Buddy Capps would lead the charge. I was also just kidding. All of the Junior High schools made SOC great. Glad to hear from you.
Comments: Well, after a year of "reading and playing catch up," I finally got finished reading the GB. 'WOW", what an exciting class we have!!Seems like we're still "getting our kicks "well after "66" (and then some). Our computer went out again, so hopefully it's ok now. BLB, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your gbabies, my thoughts and prayers are with you and family. Boy, reading all these precious Oak Cliff memories- one can close your eyes and see all these places. We lived on the corner red brick house on Malden Ln., where Hudspeth and Garza met. I had an aunt that worked at Skillerns at Cedar Crest and we got our fair share and then some of malts with school supplies (remember that Cuz).Has there already been a "field trip" back there? My husband (ex TJ Rebel, Patriot now) thinks I'm crazy when I want to go take a look see. I would't want to go by myself. I really can't believe all my ex Storyites are letting Smiley getting away with calling Storey "a lesser Jr. Hi.!!! Some nerve you have Mr. Smiley. (I'm kidding you, but we were'nt a lesser school). Everybody take care . DEB
Comments: ![]() ![]() I can remember when my uncle passed away last year, after the funeral we decided to show Bobby our house on Sonata and SOC (Bobby went to Woodrow). During the short time we were there I bet I checked the locks on the door 5 or 6 times. Actually our old house looked pretty good. The only thing was that when we lived out there we did not park in front of the houses so the streets looked really wide and now everyone parks in the street (fast get-away!) ![]() I remember Sandy talking about the shoe store at one or the parties! I thought I was going to cry I got to laughing so hard. That was the only reason they worked there!
Comments: I remember Trudy from OWH. I recently reconected with Cindy Smith--who went on to Adamson--and she said that she saw Trudy in the past few years. Sandy McM, wish I were there to go on the Magical Mystery Tour of Oak Cliff with ya'll...take lots of pics....my house was 2253 Narboe.
Comments: David M left a message a few minutes ago (now two pages) to ua. Class today I have learned two things. Fathers Buy the girls shoes by take a peek McGee. and don't eat out By Ronnie McKee. Sandy I hope u don't run with these Mc guys I remember Malone don't think he went to Tech but did date one of my main squeezes Trudy Henry Homee JH at Kimball later. the boy was too big to argue with.
Comments: That's fast talkin, slow walkin, good lookin Mohair Sam
Comments: Here we go. Who is the coolest guy who is what I am ____ _______ ____ _______ __ ____ ___. ![]()
Comments: Oops, Laura Sue Hurt may have been SOC '60, not Adamson. Sorry.
Comments: LouAnna Chambers had two sisters. Laura Sue, Adamson '60 and Marion SOC '64. Marion was married to Joe Vining, the older brother of Jerry Vining for a while. You are correct about Jimmy.
Comments: No, that wasn't the same family. He went to Adamson and I guess Holmes Jr. High, the socialite school.
Comments: Oh, and Tommy went to one of the lessor Junior Highs something like Boude Storey or something like that. Certainly not up to " The Sarah T Zumwalt School"
Comments: Sandy' Tommy lived one block North of Ann Arbor. Street started with an "E" I think. He had a much older sister and 10 year younger brother and sister ( Randy and Carla ) Some might say he got meaner later. He moved to Denton our Soph year. Was a good athlete.
Comments: Dale, where did he go to school? There was a family up the street from me on Dugald that was named Bender or could of been Binder, they had two sons that were mean as hell. One named Tommy and the other Jimmy. Ada, do you know who I am talking about? They lived on the big corner with the huge fountain in front.
Comments: I was at Glendale one day when Tommy Binder got kicked out of the pool and told not to return for urinating in the pool.
Comments: Linda, You didn't tell the moral of the story; Don't ever call your friend when she's washing her hair, she'll have to call you back. That's where I lived when I was born, Elmore! |
