Comments: Doctor Dave, that part of Oak Cliff is OK , at least during the day. After the sun goes down you may hear a gun shot or two, but that's how some celebrate. Gloria's is still open. Bishop Grill closed, that's where Hunky's is. The Belmont has a good restaurant, right off of Ft. Worth Ave. There's Cafe Madrid, two Italian restaurants, one at Davis/Bishop, the other down the street from Hattie's. A Tia restaurant and Grill 400. I don't think I will get lost. I am pretty good with directions. And I can duck the bullets. You guys have no idea of the people I have had to deal with being in the hotel business for so long. Once a robber walked in the hotel pulled a gun, I was in my office which, was glassed in, in the lobby. I told the guy we had no money or any jewelry. Thanks goodness he left, I immediately called 911 and ran after the would be robber...keep a eye on him and the police caught him.
Comments: So lets just drink a beer and roll in the hay. I know that's not right, I just made it up. Jada where do you come up with these? Are they real?
Comments: We can never know about the days to come
Comments: Buddy C, sorry to hear about your friend. It's hard when you lose a good friend. I didn't know him but sounds like he was a good person.
Comments: Jack, Tupinamba's has moved Three times. First to north west Hwy, then to Midway and 635. And now is on Inwood just north of Forest Lane. They may have moved again, haven't been by there lately. For thoses going back to Oak Cliff, don't be a scared I have a sales territory there and go twice a month, and my parents still live off of Edgefield and Charles Moss's mon lives in Oak Cliff too. Have fun. Just don't drink the water. Is that the name of a song Dale? Ready to play?
Comments: Happy Jack on the other side I feel the pain of all who knew Mic. I'm just in ded with so many people that crossed paths with a wonderful guy. i hate to think of all the girls heart broken
Comments: Is Gloria's still open in Oak Cliff? Bishop Grill??? There's a good mexican restaurant on Twelfth Street just west of Zang Blvd.
Comments: Sorry Buddy. How many times have you heard that?? I haven't eaten in that part of town since Tupinamba's moved. I can only think of Hunky's in the Bishop Art District. Somewhere around Bishop and 7th or 8th street.
Comments: ....Sandy Joe, I was thinking the same thing about an escort...I wonder if Dane would be available?
Comments: Ms. Sandra McM, you ladies are going back to Holmes, Zumwalt, Story, armed with a mapsco and pepper spray. A guy was shot and killed off S. Polk by 7 people for $7.00 last month. I have a S&W 38 you might want to borrow. You need Dane Thornton as an escort.

Hate to have to send a search/rescue party to bring you out.
Comments: Rick, it's kinda' like reading a novel once you get behind , but has a zillion chapters. And sometime you have to go back and re-read the chapter and it still doesn't make sense. Good to see you posting again. Where's Gary D?
Comments: I'll be happy to drive. I have a moon roof, so you can stand up and take pictures and doors can stay locked.
Comments: Toni, I'm just about to head over to Linda's. You want to meet in Old Oak Cliff have lunch then head out? Maybe on Bishop? One of Linda's sorority sisters died and her funeral is Friday. Linda still wants to go, so she may catch up with us right after lunch. I think she'll know more after her meeting tonight. I want us to take lots of pictures. I'll bring my pepper spray. ![]() |
