Comments: Yes Ada, usually the day goes by quickly, but tda it drug by slowly. I haven't gotten anymore em from Adam, so we'll just have to wait. I can imagine how awful it has been for Christie & her family as they sit & wait in her room. Christie is supposed to rest & her kids are trying to see that she does. We'll just have to keep going until we hear that she has gone into surgery -- could be anytime! I know the GB has been quite tda . . . I guess everyone is like me ... I'm upset & speechless!
Comments: This waiting for news about Christie is getting very nerve wracking. I just can't imagine how she, her family and dearest friends (Eileen and Pat) feel. She has been on my mind all day as I'm sure she has been for all of you. Let's all keep the positive thoughts going and encircle her in our love and support.

Comments: Update on Christie - - I've recvd em from her son, Adam, and he asked that we not call the hospital or send flowers just yet! He said they would like some quite "family time" together before she goes into surgery! It's an hour-by-hour situation and they can take her to surgery at any time! When she comes out of Recovery she'll go into ICU, then later to a new room. Please respect the family's wishes at this time & give them their privacy! He will let us know as soon as anything changes and she goes to surgery. He also thanked us for caring & our prayers. And yes, they will take us up on our offer to stay with Christie at night as the family is already getting worn out. Therefore, any of you ladies who would be available to sit all night with Christie after surgery, please send me an email with your Name, Contact # and what nights you might be available. Just indicate Monday,Saturday, Fri etc as we don't know exactly when she will go to surgery. Nothing more just that info. Be specific and brief. I'll keep it and when Adam or Amy call I'll see who can go and what nights each can be there. Don't send me your info if you can't follow thru, this is serious and we need to be able to follow thru with our offers! Let's respect the children's wishes as they want to have time with their Mom before she goes to surgery and they're trying to have her rest like the Dr. asked her to. I promise I will pass on anything I hear from the family as soon as I get it. For now, we have to be patient and pray. They will need us even more after surgery.

Comments: SNL, thanks for the update about Christie. Please let Christie and her family know that I am thinking nothing but positive thoughts and will keep all of them in my prayers. This news really hits home with me for many reasons....I'm too upset to post anymore....sorry.
Comments: I know all you warm weather friends of mine have asked me ove and over...how could I continue to live in Wisconsin...well...I thought about it and here is my final answer: It's winter in Wisconsin And the gentle breezes blow Seventy miles an hour At twenty-five below. Oh, how I love Wisconsin When the snow's up to your butt You take a breath of winter And your nose gets frozen shut. Yes, the weather here is wonderful So I guess I'll hang around I could never leave Wisconsin 'Cause I'm frozen to the ground! So now ya know!!! 
Comments: I tried without success to get in touch w/the family up until 9:35pm last nite. I did t/w both Bill & his dtr Amy this mrng. PLEASE NOTE: Amy has requested that no one call their home & t/w Bill. They are controlling what he hears as he is a heart patient & several yrs older than Christie. Amy sd they aren't sure when surgery will be done - - could be as early as tda or as late as Wed. They are giving Christie blood thinners & it depends on when the Dr. says the time is right! She has asked that no one call today until I hear bk frm her. She may go into surgery tda & Amy doesn't need the hassle of the pho as there are many other issues she is dealing with. I assured her all of Christie's friends are sending up prayers & we anxiously await new info. I told her we had some SOC girlfriends offering to stay at night if she needs them. She said she just might need help & will call me if she does. I will then pass on the names & # of those who have volunteered. I will get you the mailing address for cards shortly. Please, let's respect their privacy & not put undue stress on them at this time. Amy will get back to me by 1:00 if surgery is tda & she will let me know if it's OK to call Christie or not. For now, let's pray for her and her family and wait for more info. Thank you!

Comments: i would like to say that this is really hard for us . im eileen sandefer's little sister dlana. and christie has been with us through every thing that we have been through with our family .christie made me realize that i had lost 2 mothers within 15 months she has always been there for us and we will be there for her and her family. eileen is taking it pretty hard but me and my husband are trying to make her feel better but no matter how much you tell someone when something like this happens that you need to think postive . they dont believe it so when you are sitting there thinking that your life is bad always remember that there is someone out there has worst problems than you do so lets keep on praying and having faith .dont know yall but i feel that i do cause of eileen . christie i have know her since i was born. she is a wonderful person and so is her family
Comments: I talked to Christie this morning and she seemed to be in good spirits considering what she and her family are going through. The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday.She is at Baylor Hospital. This is so hard for me because she has been my best friend for 45 years.
Comments: I promise I will keep everyone informed of Christie's status!! I will call Bill tonight hoping to catch him at home. I like to confirm info of this type with the family rather than getting a 3rd party version! As soon as I can get an update on hospital & other critical info I will inform ya'll as I know everyone wants to help. I'll let him know all of her SOC Friends are praying and offering to help if he needs it. I'll get back to you soon! |
