Comments: Snadra McM., the trantula you had nightmares about may have been the 9th grade Holmes stud you were in the balcony with.......
Comments: Ronney Mc., Donna Terry and sister Sonja were sweet, kind, beautiful girls. I always told them it was an honor to dance with them at the soc hops.
Comments: Sandy Mc: I have some of the Topper episodes on DVD. I, also, never missed the show. I also have all of the I Love Lucy shows and Luci-Desi Comedy Hour shows on DVD, along with some of the Our Miss Brooks and My Little Margie programs. Always fun to watch them and go back in time.
Comments: Karen, I have watched "It's a Wonderful Life" more than any other movie. One of my daughter's favorites is "Stand By Me", which I have seen many times.as well as dirty dancing. "Breakfast At Tiffany's", Linda and I saw that at Crest Theater. I'm so tired I can't spell any more even with spell check. It never stopped raining last night and actually kept me awake. Besides the creek being out of it banks I could stop thinking about one of my friends. ![]() ![]() In the shower and off to bed. Night everyone.![]() ![]()
Comments: Some of my favorite movies include "Titanic" including the old version with Clifton Webb and Barbara Stanwyck, all Indiana Jones movies (can't wait for the new one!), It's a Wonderful Life", "The Sure Thing" and, yes, "Memento". I was off today and went to a matinee with a friend of mine and saw "Cloverfield". It was interesting in a wild and wicked way. JS, in fairness to SNL, you should have asked "what" rather than "who starred in the title role". ![]()
Comments: Doc, I remember Topper. It was a show I never missed.
Comments: John S, you're older than the class of '66. What is the oldest TV show you remember? Anyone remember Topper?
Comments: And, Toni, you are right. Donna Terry was the salt of the earth. You could not find a sweeter, kinder person. She and I both thought a lot of one another. I think she sort of liked the attention, even if it was calling her Shorty. I still feel sad thinking that she has passed on. I was hoping so much that she would come to a reunion. I would have loved to have had the opportunity to sit and talk with her again. She was one of the most precious people in our class. Not a mean bone in her entire body. I never even heard her say anything bad about anyone. I had to square dance with her once. It was so much fun having to squat down to dance with her.
Comments: Toni: Remember how she would send us to the Principal (Mr. Thomas) if we went to the restroom between classes? Maybe she never went to the restroom. That would explain her irritable attitude. I remember Mr. Clark giving me a hall pass to go to the restroom after she wouldn't let us go. She got that MEAN look on her face and started to come after me. I flashed the hall pass at her and ran into the restroom. Guess she gave up. Well, not exactly. I saw her at Mr. Clark's door giving him a royal tongue lashing. Good ol' Mr. Clark was too nice to tell her to sit on it and spin around. He just smiled and said he would deal with it. She let out a loud huff and stormed back to her classroom.
Comments: Karen, how many times do I have to tell you......shhhhh! You're not supposed to tell EVERYTHING! I don't remember what movie it was but I do remember how your father laughed at us. I always knew he had a good sense of humor but that was really cruel of him! Ronney, Donna Terry loved you or she wouldn't have let you get by with the name calling...she was a great sport and a very loyal friend! OMG - I haven't thought about that old battle axe...Ms. Blum....in forever....razorblades indeed!
Comments: I should have known better, your questions are never what they seem! And of course Richard, who is as tricky as you, knew exactly what you meant. I on the other hand . . . well, I'm still falling for it every time.
Comments: SNL, you are indeed right on the actors. It was a trick question from the git-go.
Comments: JS, I want a recount!!! I think you & Richard conspired on The African Queen!! Was I at least right on the actors who starred in it?? ![]() P.S. No Google, Ask or other sources were queried to get the answer.!!! ![]()
Comments: Shortcakes: Well, some of my nicknames can't be repeated in mixed company. Maybe your nickname and the snakes are why I got those nicknames! At Marsalis, I called Donna Terry "Shorty." And, I lived to tell about it. I had unmentionable names for Lillian Blum, our math teacher. What an old witch. We sure had a wide range of teachers......from Don Clark, who was our great homeroom teacher, to Miss Blum. Oye Vey!!!! I used to swear she ate razor blades and battery acid for breakfast. ![]()
Comments: I had nightmares after my Dad took Toni, my sister and myself to see "the Hand" while our Mothers worked on entrees in a Garden Club project for us. I don't think that is what they had in mind when they sent us to the show - but hey that is where he took us! Or maybe it was The Tingler - all I can remember is that it was scary! Do you remember Toni? |
