We are settled into our new house in McKinney.  I have all of my 85 tubs unpacked except for Christmas, and it will happen the day after Thanksgiving.  We even managed to talk Toni & Bruce into taking a lot of empty tubs!  I made a chocolate pie for them when they picked them up.  They showed up with cheesecake with strawberry topping so we sent the pie home with them.  We have finally gotten all of our furniture bought and delivered.  Final item - wine cooler.  Bobby does not drink wine so that was not of immediate importance to him.  Sad note- we sold his truck. Because of the MD he cannot drive so we not have just one vehicle.  Really sad watching it drive away.  We have settled into a routine now-home depot, Lowe’s and harbor freight in the morning.  I am thinking they are going to get me my own parking spot.  Oh well, see you the 19th.

As an additional note to the announcement of the Fall Mini, here's something to think about. There is a big surprise waiting for us when we get to the Mini.  Please try to be on time. I will wait until 2:30 to make the announcement.  If you arrive after that, see me first to get in on the deal.

Please try to be there as it's so much more fun to celebrate with lots of friends! You're going to like this surprise!!

Yes, there will  be a Fall Mini.  It will be October 19, 2:00 to 6:00pm at the same Hilton we've been going to for some time.  It's at Hwy 75 & Campbell Rd in Richardson.

I hope many of you will plan to attend. We've lost so many of our good friends the past few years and you never know when you will get another opportunity to see a longtime friend. Let's make the most of this opportunity.

SOC '66 Veterans Day 2024 Slideshow
Greetings All – Nov. 11th is still several weeks away, but there are still many vet photos missing from individual slides that I’d like to include.
If you haven’t submitted one, or know of someone else who hasn’t, I’d like to get a copy while there’s still time to edit and update before the slide show is posted on YouTube.
For those who’ve already submitted, if any changes to vet data are needed, including updates to existing photos, please let me know.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is managing to stay cool during these dog days of summer! Today I woke up to 72 degrees outside! I thought I was dreaming. This country life is agreeing with me so far. Happy belated birthday wishes to Sheryl, Jack and Paul. Happy anniversary, Paul and Kathy. Hey Roe, I reminded Bruce that you all lived in DeKalb. We might just drive by Cowville! We’re learning how all the country roads come together in one town or the other. We are doing a lot of new and different things and as long as the critters continue to fear me I’ll be fine! Jack, there’s no chance that we will ever be void of Purple Martins! Bruce has already mapped a trail through the woods to the other side of our property and is planning their new homes. Well, it does keep him busy. LOL!
