Hey Karen MG---How are you doing?  Was going back through all the postings I've missed, and was horrified reading about your injury.  OOOOCH!  Sounds painful.  Hope you've recovered.  Love your writing---maybe a safer line of work---you've certainly got the TALENT!  Talent and Melton girls always go together!

Doctor Dave; been meaning to ask you, do you have a specialty or just general stuff??
I once was a doctor of teletype. My specialty died with the inventions of CRT's and personal computers.
Seems only LOVE last forever. And sometimes it doesn't too.

Barbara and I had a very nice visit with Christie last night.  We probably stayed a little too long.  She didn't want us to go but we both could see that she was tired.  She's hanging in there and so far the radiation seems to be agreeing with her.  Her schedule is very full with therapy and radiation but she did have time to have a fancy pedicure.  Everyone who can should take a few minutes of your time to go to see her.  She would love to see everyone.

Buddy,
Fished Toledo Bend 2 weeks ago but went with 2 friends that have a cabin on the South end by where Fin and Feather used to be. Caught most of the 50+ fish (3 guys fishing 3 days) at night under the lights around docks. Mostly baby brush hogs dipped in garlic on Carolina rigs. Used to fish there lots in the 70's. Took Yuvonne for a week last summer. Fished out of Holly Park Marina. Caught a few early and late... not anything like in the old days.
Lots of places here to play golf. If you are ever in the area and have time I keep the batteries charged on the boat and the golf cart.... Your choice.

Thanks for all the messages re my health. I'm sorry Dr. Dave for not listening to you; in fact if I did- I could have saved time and an office visit!!  I was getting so excited about the June get together and my second oldest sis burst my bubble (I'm the middle of 5 girls)- her son is getting married the same day at 2:00;  Wonder if I could send in a proxy? My baby sis Marcia's dauther is getting married this Sat. She just got out of the Air Force last week (where the she met Mr. Right) then he will leave for Japan for 4 months training without her and she will come home; Lori's intended said that what happened when the Air Force waved a $3000. bonus to reinlist
BLB, I feel the same way you do about "teary eyes". It's great to have friends, but then when you hear bad news.....so important to live your life and try not to hurt others - no telling when you won't have them!! I'm sure I'm not the only one- but at every reunion and get together when I see friends from Oliver, Storey and SOC I don't see baldness, white hair, fat or skinney- just the same person I love as much as when we met
I Love all you guys.  DEB

Dale - the trip was more of a recreation than fishing. My daughter has a time share on the south end. I was impressed with the overall lay out of the towns around the lake. 3 grand boys oldest 10 did not have personal time to hunt the big fish too bizzy undoing line. did get into some catfish by the lighthouse on plastic worms. Mr Bass was mighty shy though

My personal favorite lake is T Bend (Toledo Bend). Now Dale T Bend invented steel props. The only way to navigate on the North end (my hONEY hOLES) is depth finders running on the river and saying Hale Marys please don't hit a stump but the rewards are worth it

Sandra, the dinner was great and the people were really nice. I'm happy that my daughter found a good Christian guy to marry.

Sandy, I'm living vicariously through you as you make all your selections for your new home. I guess it's kinda like when guys talk about NASCAR. It's really exciting! (Not NASCAR, selecting granite, etc. lol)

Good news Deb, glad to hear that. I told you last May you would be just fine, and I was right. After all I'm Doctor Dave.
