Comments: Glad you brought that up Ms McMakin. There is now room to post those two pics of us at the races as well as the older GNO pics. I had to remove the older pics to make room for the newer ones. I'll be working on loading & labeling those previous pics & let you know when they are all done. I'm still hacked that the pics on the Misc pg won't open up as well as some of the other quirks I've been experiencing. Maybe last week was just a bad dream and it will all be hunky dorey this week! ![]()

Comments: Ms. Sandra McM, avacado in your hair. Does that make you a " Bueno Head"? Just wondering.....
Comments: SNL, everything looks great. Thanks for all the time you put in to my our GB the best. What ever happened to the photo that we took at the races? A little beauty tip for you ladies. Some of you may have tried this or heard about it already. To make your hair shiny and soft mash a ripe avocado and generously smear it on your hair. Let it stay on while you take a shower, 30 minutes or so. I did this last Friday. I then used some Jergens Natural glow Daily Moisturizer with natural botanicals & a subtle skin darkening complex (not knowing it was for medium/tan skin tones), Courtney had left here. Too bad I didn't do this Easter weekend, I could have accompanied Peter in his rounds as a 5'6" carrot. But I do have soft, shiny hair. BTW, Don't forget to rinse it out.![]()
Comments: John, Thanks for sharing with us your great letter from 2004 and the old photo of Mr. Headrick!! Well gang, I've worked on the site and created several new pgs & moved the pics around to make the pgs run better. Seems we had way too many pics on one pg. When you log on next time don't let all the pgs throw you. The HOME pg is first, but all the rest are in alpha order. The new pgs hold the photos from our Get-Togethers. I've separated them out by year so the pgs won't bog down so badly. I've also created a GNO & BNO pg for our Girls and Boys Night Out photos. The only thing NEW added to the site are the 2 pics from our luncheon at Houston's and pics of Gordy's '67 Impala convertible. The luncheon photos are at the top of the album on the GNO pg. & the Impala pics are at the top of the Misc Photos pg. I've still got problems with the Misc Photo pg as two of the three photos won't open up to the large size. Sorry, I tried today to get help & see what's wrong with that pg but after 15 min I got tired of holding! I'll try calling this week when they'll have more help. The last thing added was Mr. Headrick's name to our In Memorium pg. At the bottom of the Teacher List there's a link to see the sweet note he sent after he attended our 40th reunion. Thanks for your patience - - computers are going to be the death of us all. ![]() ![]() I hope to get the quirk in the Misc Photo pg fixed this week!
Comments: Regarding Mr. Headrick, I received this photo today from the archives of Frank Goodloe (pictured in background). It captures Mr. Headrick on-the-job around 1961 or so. http://people.consolidated.net/swsw/1961_headrick.jpg
Comments: BLB, it's always good to plan. ![]() Warm up the hot tub, and chill the champagne!
Comments: Hey, Yourself , Ronney! I will try and see Vantage pt.How's our Girl?My Eva and Sarah went to Market today to buy for Gorden Boswell and the Baby Store.First three day weekend I have had in several months.Tonight is my night with my Ava!!
Comments: Sandy Joe, My first year to teach I was to have 5 sections : Biology (4) and Chem.(1) then a conference period and coach high school football, basketball and track(after school only). For that I was to be paid $6,000 for teaching and $250 for coaching. On the last day of coaching school one of our junior high coaches told the AD he was quitting. It was too late to hire a new coach so I was re-assigned to JR High FB, Bsktbl and track before school (7:00 AM) then 6 sections of science classes, to pick up one of the vacated coaches classes, and high school FB, Bsktball and track after school. For doing this I was given ANOTHER $250 for a grand total of $6500. I had given up my conference period and my life. In the Spring our Tennis coach left for another job and I became the tennis " sponser" for one year. No salary for that. Did take an athlete to state in singles but I promise all I did was drive the bus and say "way to go." The kids deserved better.
Comments: Hey, Bobby (and all others): If you want to see a good movie, go to the theater and see Vantage Point. Very interesting and fast moving. It is made in a very unusual and effective manner.
Comments: Watched an old great movie western this early morn...SHANE.Jack Palance was great in it too..besides Alan Ladd.I was at the University of Chicago when I first started watching Wolfman Jack..Stayed up many a night to watch his show....Sandy...shot a 76 once, my best in golf.Once bowled 22 straight games over 200.My best scores were left handed. Can't golf or bowl anymore because of the knees and the back.
Comments: Going back and remembering Mr Headrick...Trying to think who it was that combined carbon tet, hcl and I don't remember what else...it was like a bazooka,, next thing I know , I am in flames from the waist down. Thought I would take my pants off because I was in flames about three feet in diameter..then I thought that would not be prudent so I spanked the flames out...didn't want the girls to see me in my underware.Didn't think I would be nominated for any fire prevention commitees.HA!..........JWT are you out there??Sally T???
Comments: Prof. Smiley, I taught 8th grade earth science my first year coaching baseball. I attempted to put them in alphabetical order seating the first day, the first class. I got thru the m's when the bell rang, all of them laughing at me the entire time. Great times, for such little money.
Comments: For those of you that have not met John Southworths' wife, Dru, Yuvonne and I can tell you she is a remarkable artist. She has a studio in their home adorned with her work. She works in many mediums but water color, pen and ink and collages are strengths. The self portrait in little squares is something to see. If it got second in the Woodlands Art contest we need to see the winner. Question is : If she has such a talented eye.....how could she have picked ol' John to marry??? ![]()
Comments: Hey, Dale You and Yuvonne were first to see Dru's latest artistic endeavor - the self-portrait done in pen and ink. If you recall from her studio, it is composed of 234 one inch squares, with each one shaded in a different pattern to create the lights and darks (values). It was so labor intensive, I doubt she'll try that technique again. Today it took 2nd place in the Spring show for the Woodlands Art League. She titled it "Gridded Face". Dru also took a first place with an abstract watercolor. A big day for her! http://people.consolidated.net/swsw/gridded_face.jpg |
