Comments: Carol---I still get goose bumps remembering the beautiful sounds of our choir in my head. Mr. Watkins managed to blend all of our voices into a heavenly choir. It was like a group prayer. I ran into him when I was at UT Austin. He was getting a PhD in Music. Carol's right Jack! Never understood why you left. You could really sing. Sandy---I hope I can make it! I don't know about flying these days.
Comments: Well, now I'm not completely positive about the date of my own birthday! (It is the 10th - but thanks for 3 days' worth of good wishes!) My manager further confused the issue by sending an E-mail to everyone in our division, announcing my birthday and including a list of "other significant events" that occurred in the year of my birth - 1928! After receiving several notices concerning his mistake, he sheepishly sent a second list for the correct year. That list ended with this little-known "occurrence" - 2008 minus 60 is in fact found to be 1948, not 1928 as previously theorized. I thought the whole thing was pretty funny. After all, while I may not be the best-looking 60-year-old in the bunch, I'm "fer dang sure" the best-looking 80-year-old! Hi, Annette! We did have fun in choir, didn't we? (Jack, you shouldn't have quit.) Do you remember when we hosted the other Oak Cliff choirs during our senior year? Each choir performed, and we were the only one to receive a standing ovation! That was pretty cool! ...and I probably shouldn't get started on politics! I'm going to the Truman Presidential Library on Sunday to see a special exhibit about Truman and the founding of Israel. Love him or hate him - he was a leader. Hi, James! I'm pretty sure that Mr. Lintz never threw his baton at me. I recall being "teacher's pet", at least in the ninth grade. The fact that I played the clarinet (his instrument of choice) might have had something to do with that. (Oh, stop being so modest, Carol. It was just that you were so darn sweet!) ;-) I'm glad that everyone made it through the storms relatively OK. KRL, I laughed at your story about Bobby. When I lived in OKC, I would be sure to have my purse in hand during storms so "they could identify the body". ...as if that purse would still have been in my hands after "the big one" hit! Comments: The suspecious thing is him dressed in his jeans and me still in my pj's. I asked him if he was going to wake me up and he said that if it was getting worse he would! You guys are just so considerate!!!!  Jack - saw your nephew the other day - he had a burn spot on his ear from a fire he had been at. It is ok now (saw him again yesterday). He said hi 
Comments: Hey Annette, Haven't heard you say yet if you & Sid are planning to attend our get-together in June??!!  Sure hope so as we hardly got to see you at the reunion since you could only be there on Fri night. Hope ya'll are getting settled into your new digs. 
Comments: I got Peggy's contact info from her sister, but she never responded to my inquires. I had fun in chior too, until Mr Watkins took over.
Comments: Happy Big 60 to my good buddy Carol Carpenter. We have sooo many good memories of choir together. Dare I tread where you so boldly went before?---Yikes, are we gettin' Miss Hillary for President??? Politics keeps getting scarier and scarier. Hey you boys didn't have exclusive rights to putting "porch bombs." My partner in crime was Peggy Voetketter. Has anyone heard from her? Peggy's a terrific person.
Comments: I would love to have you guys have your poker night at the hotel. We have a private meeting room approximately 1000 square feet. I'll check next week to see if there are round tables. There's a beer and wine store next door
Comments: That is an excellent idea, Pool Guy. Sandy McM, does your establishment have meeting rooms? Don't know if the Express mode does or not. Just need chairs and tables and ice, we'd bring everything else. Good to hear from you Don. I didn't know retirees had overtime available. Since you have been in touch with Mr. Hamm, has his status changed yet?? Shortcake, suggest Bobby get a robe. Finding him dressed at 3:00 AM would be very suspicious!
Comments: That's funny Shortcake!!! Not about your migraine, but Bobby getting dressed!! He's got a point . . .  Hope your head is better tda! Our maintenance crew worked hard all day yesterday & managed to get all the downed trees cleared and mulched up in the big chipper machine. Hopefully it will be quieter tda as all those buzz saw & the mulching machine were a bit much. Looks sad tda seeing all the ripped-up trees.
Comments: Carol - Happy Birthday for real!!! The storm Thursday morning was really really bad! The pressure got so low in our part of Garland that I ended up with a major migraine. If the weather had not been so bad and the sirens had not been going off I think i would have headed for the hospital. Funny though-Bobby was putting on jeans at 3 am & I asked what he was doing-he said when they found our bodies he wanted to be dressed!
Comments: I agree Buddy - - It's either NFL season or it's not! I go thru withdrawal after the 1st Sun in Feb until Aug!! Everything in between is just filler!!  Hey Carol, since TODAY is really your B-day . . . have a great one! Can't be bad, it's FRIDAY!!!!!

I tell everyone at work I am 83.I failed a lot and never told anyone.Happy belated CC!! The storm took our neighbors back porch off.We were without elect. for 18 hrs.My Jacqueline was shaking she was so scared..worried about tornadoes.You choir people...The blend of your voices was inspiring and uplifting.I am good in the shower with microphone soap.
Guys, the other day, I was listening to a station and a guest was one of the three munchkins that sang on the wizard of oz.He was also a busboy or something on one of the old shows..Lucy or Jackie Gleason or Berl...But he would say Call for Philip Morrrriss.Same Dude.Those Flying Monkeys...
Just about ready to make my first round NFL draft board.I take off that day every year,Sat and Sunday.
