Ada:
If you haven't read the book "90 Minutes in Heaven," go find a copy and read it. It is a true story of a preacher who was run over by an 18-wheeler and died. He was dead for 90 minutes. Another preacher happened upon the accident and talked the paramedics into letting him crawl into the wrecked car and pray for the dead man. The dead man suddenly came back to life singing a hymn. Much of the book talks about his lengthy recovery. But, he tries to describe Heaven as best he can. He said words cannot do justice to Heaven. He has spent the rest of his life wishing he were back in Heaven. His descriptions make you feel so good knowing that when your loved ones (and yourself) go there, you will know peace, beauty, and love like you have never known before. It is a very comforting book for someone who is losing a loved one.
You know, I hardly know you. I have only met you once (at our last get-together). But, I have come to appreciate and love you as a good friend through your e-mails and your postings in the GB. I know how difficult losing a parent is. And, I would hope that this book would help you feel good about where your mom will be.
I don't have to tell you that your former classmates are with you during this time. We all want comfort and peace for you, your mom, and all of your family.

Hey Gordy - congratulations on your good luck with your car.  Did you tell them how much more it was worth since all of us girls drove out there and sat in it?  That in itself should have added to the value of it.

SNL; I don't know about Donnie having a birthday. Seems like the last time I talked to him, he said he wasn't going to have anymore. I think he said he was just going to have anniversaries of his 40th from now on.
Good to hear from you, Jim. I am surprised to hear you had a sudden move, even if it was a few years back. You were always a smooth one.

Jim, glad to see your fingers are still moving even if the rest of you isn't!  Good to have you back!  Take care of yourself & we'll see you on 6-7-8!

Ada Ann & Susan, my heart always goes out to any one who is loosing or who has lost their Mom.  I know how empty & heartbroken I was in 94 when mine passed away.  I wish I'd had friends like you to share it with and to talk to about it.  I'm here as well as the rest of this motley crew.  We may be a bit crazy, but we care about you deeply!!  You can call anytime . . . I'll always answer!   God Bless you and your sweet Mom!

Thanks to all for the kind thoughts and good wishes. I will go back to the Dr on Mon and I anticipate going back to the office at least for a half  of a day starting Tues. He said I could start driving when I could make a sudden move. I haven't made a sudden move since ' 96 or so.

Once again, thanks to all.  Ada, special thoughts and Prayers form you and your family. Sadly, most of us have been there.

Sandra, my mother died in February of 2005 of the same illness Ada's mother has.  Because of that, I can really relate to the different stages she's going through with her Mom.  One of the things I'll always remember is that everyone on the GB was so kind, extending their sympathy and prayers.  I know we're all doing the same for Ada.

Well Sandy NL, I'll tell you what happened. I was typing the capital D in bigD but must have hit the Enter D as well. When that happens the D stands for double and that means trouble.
and I held the Enter DOUBLE DOWN. 2Double times 2Double equals 22 and that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
