A great way to start the morning is with 90.9 if you can't make it out this morning. You might be surprised Happy Sunday morning.

What a great gift idea for Christie AND her family. It will be my pleasure and honor to donate. Christie has been a real trooper throughout her ordeal and she is so blessed to have a devoted family to care for her as she does. God bless them all.

Sam, go to our home page (you can also reach it at the bottom of our GB pg) and click on the SOC LINKS listed on the left side of the Home pg.  It gives you all the SOC website links.  But don't expect to see info on Gary on the 67 site.  They are not publishing it.  He doesn't want his personal battle put all over the GB.  You might talk privately with Buddy Capps and see if he can fill you in.  I know it's serious but not sure of the prognosis.   You might suggest to Marvin that he call some of the people listed in his 67 Directory & ask them outside of the GB.

Hello all. It's been awhile since I've logged onto the GB.

My good friend Marvin Mullins, Class of '67, called me from Houston this morning. He was asking how all are doing. He and Shirley Morris Mullins were asking about Gary Hudspeth also class of '67. When they were up here last September for their 40th reunion they went to visit Gary and said he had terminal cancer. I'm not for sure if the class of '67 has a website or not. I could not find a log on.

Anyone knows about Gary? I told Marvin I would check with you guys and call him back.

Sandy, Sarah and I will send a check for Christy.

This pertains to Christie Blevins Torbett - - She finished her 6 wks of Radiation & has only a few days of Chemo left.  You can still read the Blog her dtr, Amy, updates. http://christietorbett.blogspot.com/

But things aren't great by any means.  As you may know, Christie & Bill moved into Amy's house so Amy & her family could take care of her.  It's a full-time job so Amy had to quit her job.  There are some good days, some bad days and some really bad days!  God Bless Amy, her husband & two boys, as they are a loving & devoted bunch!

Christie has told us ever since she came out of surgery that she & Eileen S were going to Vegas in May!!  She talks about it all the time!  But she now understands it can't happen.  She can't travel, at best she can barely get around with the assistance of someone.  But Christie loves to gamble & playing the slot machines was her favorite!  Sooo, the girls & I have been looking for a small slot machine (classified as a toy) to buy her.  We thought she could get hours of enjoyment & pretend she's in Vegas!  We found one on the Internet.  It's like the real thing & even pays out money when you hit 3 Sevens!!  It's 16" H x 8.5" W x 6"D.  Has a working handle, spinning reels & a light & bell that goes off if you hit the Lucky 777's!  It was ordered last night & should be here in 4 days.

Because so many of you have asked us, "what can I do to help?" we are going to give you the chance to do so!  We want to fill the slot machine with quarters & then give Christie 3 or 4 rolls of quarters to play.  Anyone wanting to help Christie can send me a $20 ck and I'll collect them.  I'll take them to the bank & get quarters to fill the slot machine.  Whatever money is left over we'll give Amy as cash to help buy food or pay doctor bills.  Do NOT make the ck out to the SOC Fund.  This is separate and it's for Christie.  Make it out to: Sandy Lynn & mail to 17250 Knoll Trail Apt.1907, Dallas, TX 75248.  I will be the treasurer and Barb, Toni & I will oversee the implementation of this plan.  This is strictly voluntary, but so many of you have offered to help and this seemed like a great idea.  It will give Christie great pleasure and also help Amy & her struggling family as they care for her 24/7.  Of course any amount sent will be appreciated whether it's $5 or whatever you want to give!  Every quarter we receive will go to Christie's dtr to help her take care of her Mom and to fill the slot machine, which when it pays out will go to Amy too!

God Bless ya'll for wanting to help!!!  We'll buy a card and list everyone who contributes so Amy & Christie can see the outpouring of love all of us have for them!  Send your checks as quickly as possible so we can get it to them soon!  time is of essence!

We brought our new RV to Terrell this weekend to meet 9 other couples and go to 1st Monday-great weekend to plan that-to there after the Tornado so everyone is ok.-just some of the booths got damaged

I really like the Bear on the Home Page SNL-looks great!

Nance-if the girls like older men my grandson would probably be a good catch someday-he has great plans to be extremely rich and successful - said he will own a lot of land and build a house for his parent, grandparents and in-laws so everyone can live there happy.   You know how kids are!

Linda,  I can't believe your up this late.   That's sounds like fun, have a safe trip.  I'm going into work tomorrow because I missed so much this week.  I don't know which looks worse, my house or my office.  Thanks for the card.  There was a nice article about my uncle in the paper today. I thought it neat that the paper wanted to do an article on him.
Glad to hear Christi is through with her chemo.  You're a strong one Christi and we are proud of you.

Richard Nance -- I read the article about your daughter, Brooke.  Way to go girl!  Also, you have 2 beautiful grandchildren in addition to a beautiful daughter.  Avery has the dark hair like Brooke.  Hunter, well, the jury is still out on him.  He looks like he might have light hair.  Anyway, know that you are proud of them.

Tomorrow, we are taking our 2 older grandchildren to BIG Palestine, Texas to ride the train to Rusk on the Texas State Railroad.  We'll be eating lunch in Rusk.  It's a 2 1/2 hour drive from Dallas to Palestine, so think good thoughts for all of us in the car together.  It's suppose to be beautiful weather and not too hot yet, so with the greenery and flowers out, there should be lots of scenery.

First things first - need to catch up on well-wishes:

Sandy McM - On the loss of Uncle T; so glad you got to crawl up next to him while he was still lucid & had some private time with him.

Don F. - Very glad to see your post after having that clogged artery ballooned out & the stint put in - hope you're chasing Barb around the house.

Susan - So sorry to hear the news of your loss of 'Max', your 14-yr-old pet Beagle; they are truly members of our families & we grieve terribly when they leave us.  We reluctantly adopted another dog, only this year, after losing our King Charles Spaniel mix, 'Rags', 2 yrs ago at age 15.

Buddy - Sincerely hope your daughter, Gretchen, is doing much better, especially with the all the prayers from this group.

Ada - You've taken so many trips to FL to visit your mom since we all reunited here over the last few yrs.  Plenty of prayers left in this bunch to carry you back & forth as many times as necessary.

Christie - So glad that you've had your last day of radiation & have been reunited with your family at home.  I'm sure GNO has been keeping your spot warm.

Bobby Jones, Roberto De Vicenzo, Walter Hagen, Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, and on and on and on...all walking beside me today as I shot a miserable...but fulfilling 94. The greens were not as quick as I have always heard. As it turns out, this was the last day before being closed until late fall. I will never use the golf shoes I wore today again. I am going to have them bronzed like my 1st pair of baby shoes...man what a feeling.

I have never been so excited and afraid as I was today...what an exhilarating feeling...I am not sure I will sleep tonight.

But alas I am now back to the same old normal guy you know...just with golden feet.

Good night all...McGee...I'm shocked that Hawkins & Fugate would even sit down with you for lunch...did you mooch again! LOL.

See everyone soon...oh BTW...Dennis Bishop is the Executive Producer of the TV show...CANE. At least that's what he said when last time I talked with him some 6 months ago...seems to be doing well.

I work for an engineering company called LOPEZGARCIA Group so we always have a Cinco de Mayo pot luck at work.  Needless to say, we always have some great Mexican food.  Has anyone ever had Sopapilla Cheesecake?  It's wonderful!  And only 400 + calories per serving!
