Comments: I just got back from the Post Office where they are kicking off the sale of Frank Sinatra commemorative stamps. They even went so far as to have Sinatra music playing in the background. Really. As we stood there in the slow moving line, we were lulled along by the lyrics of Strangers in the Night, Saying Something Stupid Like I Love You, and several others. It almost made the wait tolerable. Almost.
Comments: I just have one thing more to add......we're one heck of a group of caring school friends.....we all know who we are.....one big family caring for another one in need. Personally, I'm very proud to be a part of this group.
Comments: Ada Ann: I am glad you read 90 Minutes in Heaven. I have Don Piper's next book about the situation but it is in MP3 format. I haven't listened to it, yet. How was your Mother's Day? I hope it was wonderful. Linda P.: Glad you, too, got the book. You will definitely be touched by it. Don Piper's description of Heaven is exciting and makes you look forward to being there. And, you cannot help but admire the man with all of your being as you read his torturous up-hill battle to recover, a battle he will be dealing with for the rest of his life. Where most of us would just give up, he endured. I want so much to meet him in person and am praying that I will get to meet him.
Comments: Ronney, I too read the book 90 mins in Heaven....very heartwarming. Linda, I ordered Lizzie's War from Amazon....sounds like my kind of book. I love to read. The money collected is wonderful....I'm sure it will come in handy....so glad that we are a generous bunch and will go to bat for our friends.
Comments: McMakin, the $2155 is the total that came from many different classmates and not from any one person. It was truly amazing what we were able to do in a week through a large collective effort. SOC Friends are the Best!
Comments: Bay Watch, I heard from Steve Gray, Jim Martin, and Cable Guy Don Fugate today. DWF is in for 6-5, the others will let me know. All 3 were very pleased to know they have a chance to lighten your wallet. Cheezehead today said you and I were the Kings of Trash Talk. Harvey Bass taught me everything I know......
Comments: Ronney -- I agree with you -- those crackers Sue brought to the last mini were great and just hit the spot. I got her recipe but haven't made them yet. Hers will be better. Yesterday, I bought the book you recommended "90 Minutes in Heaven." Look forward to reading it. Don L. -- you sound like a proud papa to your boys, and they sound like good boys and patriotic boys. I just finished a novel called "Lizzie's War" which takes place during 1967-68 and her husband is a Marine in VietNam and she is a stay-at-home mom. It's about their lives b/f, during, and when he comes home from VN.

Comments: This is an announcement I'm happy and pleased to make! In just one week we have collected $2,155 for Christie!! A BIG Thank you to each person who gave in order to help a classmate in distress. The girls (Barb, Toni & KMG) and I will be going out to Christie's again this Wed night. We will give Christie the slot machine (which has lots of quarters in it) and 5 rolls of quarters to play it with! We will also bring a big gift certificate from Super Target (that's where Amy buys groceries) and a big cash gift. We will tell Amy these gifts were given with love by Christie's SOC friends from her class of '66.   All checks recvd through Sat night were included. If any others come in later, they will be given on the next visit. Again, Thank You for opening your hearts and your wallets! Hey, check out the EVENTS pg. Comments: Dale-I have been working on the long drive Smiley style and like to report a 40 yd gain. now if the run stops at the roll its 60 yds but flight still 40. i just don't run as fast as i use to. Any other helpfull hints to improve my game is appreciated and needed thanks Dale
Comments: JD- WARNING dealing with Butterfingers McGee (Cold Cash Jackson Jr). cheats on score card, uses foot wedge, tees up in the sand, picks up ball on green in one hand reaches other hand to pin to spot, and when u thought u have seen it all he pays u off in bags of aluminum cans. What a guy |
