Comments: Hi, everyone! I did what I said I would NOT do - I got behind on the GB again. I was behind by just 5 weeks' worth of posts this time, though, so catching up didn't take too long. Some of the posts made me LOL, while some made me cry - but they all made me miss all of you so very much. ...and, speaking of missing you - I unfortunately will miss seeing everyone in June. (Sandy, I'm going to copy and paste from the note that I sent to you on Thursday.) Our summer national meeting, which usually takes place at the end of June, starts on May 31st this year. I am one of those responsible for seeing that changes approved at our national meetings are incorporated into various specification components that we produce, and the time in which to incorporate those changes is pretty short. I have known about this since the June gathering was announced - and normally it wouldn't be a problem - but one of our team members had to have major surgery and won't be back until about the time that I should be leaving for Dallas. (I am her backup and will need to be available in case she is not able to get "up to speed" as quickly as she is hoping.) I just can't risk being away from the office and maybe missing a deadline. So - please, please, please, please, please - let's have a second get-together this year - please, please, please, please, please!!!!! If we do - please, please, please, please, please!!!!! - I plan to make it abundantly clear to my fellow team members that they are NOT to "mess things up" for me again!  Besides work and an occasional family get-together, not much going on with me. My most exciting news is that my nephew William graduated from USC yesterday - which doesn't seem possible, as I recall going to his high school graduation about 3 days ago! He plans to work at least a year before going to grad school. Sure wish that he would come back to this area to live, but we can't seem to convince him that Kansas and Missouri are the best places to begin a career in filmmaking. (Dennis Bishop - Are you out there?!?) Talk with you again next week. I love you all! - Carol
Comments: She called me Cap'n Jack!! THANKS, KMG!! While you are close to getting that sleek racing yacht form again, I'm afraid the best I can HOPE for is moving from Super Tanker down to freighter. Do hope to lose the barnacles though!!

I can also remember that Jack's nephew has a lot more "muscle" then I can ever remember Jack having  Sorry Jack  You know I love you anyway!!!!!Went out to dinner with Toni and Bruce last night. We had to give Bruce a hard time because his BD is coming up on Tuesday. Offered to get him a wheelchair so his can get around better! You know me - I was really nice to him though!   
Comments: Hitting the golf ball with Bovie and a bunch of 67'ers Thursday at 11:00, Cedar Crest Golf Course. Anyone interested, call me or Buddy Capps asap. Would like to borrow a Smith and Wesson 38, loaded of course.
Comments: Reynolds-Wrap: Don't believe Hawkins. If any other guy had caught on to your statement, they would have been bombarding you with all sorts of abuse. Good pictures of the SOC Bear on Rick's trip. But, where is the photo of Rick sleeping with his "teddy" bear? And, that last picture...well Rick must have forgotten to give him his antidepressant that day. Looks like he is going to end it all by jumping off the roof. Glad you thought of us and had fun, Rick.

Comments: No Shortcake, several of us "got" it but chose to let it slide. Can you imagine the uproar if one of guys had made that type of comment?? I am disappointed that you don't remember my muscles from high school. The ROTC uniforms didn't help display them, and neither did the rest of my clothes!!!! good thing I saw the folly of following that life style and gave it up. Talking with Bovie, Richard and McGee, it must not be much fun, fighting you girls off and be the object of y'alls remarks! Funny, how the tables have seemed to turned. I am happy to announce that I am now down to my pre-holiday weight and ready to join that loss-group that was talked about.
Comments: Frankly, I felt like the "Visitor Voyeur" in their lives. Walter was magnificent as was Mouna. The actress who played Mouna, Hiam Abbass (sp?) is much better in her Arabic movies. Check her out in "Paradise Now," "The Syrian Bride," and her most excellent and visually wonderful role as a belly dancer in "Satin Rouge." I love my Netflix!
Comments: John, I'm glad to hear Dru got it right.The visitor has to be Walter. Moana, whose last name I think was "Lott", couldn't even VISIT her son in detention. Nope, Dru was right. AND, "Two Drums Up " is the worst pun of the year. It's actually 2/3 of a PUN.... PU !!!

Comments: JAda, Mr. Smiley sides with my wife in mis-assuming that "Walter Vale" is "The Visitor" in the movie of the same name. I, on the other hand, maintain that the very striking "Mouna" is truly the visitor. She plays the mother of Tarek whom I would label the tenant". And, in my view, she is "visiting" New York in search of her son. Tarek is the boyfriend of Zainab who ably fills the role of immigrant girlfriend from the Republic of Senegal (but she too could be considered a visitor in terms of her immigrant status). Regarding the ending, Mr. Smiley would most likely maintain that the projectionist was napping and forgot to put on the final reel. Comments: Hey, SNL, did you see where our friend Martha Speaks has gotten a job at Six Flags?? Wonder what ride she is operating?? I bet it is the Jungle River Ride. Can't you she her up in the front of the boat with that pith helmet on, shooting the 'gators and delivering that corny story?? That MIGHT be worth the price of a ticket!!
