Comments: I am saddened to learn of Christie's passing. I seem to remember that Christie was one of the organizers of our first "mini" get-togethers following the reunion in 2001. I will be forever grateful for that initiative. Has anyone talked with Eileen? I think that Christie has been one of her rocks throughout the years. I love you, my friends. - Carol
Comments: I called Don Gaines home Sun mrng and t/w Virginia. Sundays are the only time you can call as Don doesn't answer the pho and Virginia works the night shift 6-days a wk. I gave her the info on Christie as Don & Christie were good friends from the old neighborhood. she was going to call me tda when she got in to get the arrmts. Unfortunately she doesn't gt off work until 7:00am & doesn't think that's enough time to get home & get Don ready and make it to Duncanville by 10:00. They live in far N. Dls near the Geo. Bush & Preston. But Virginia said Don is doing well & they plan to see us on June 7th!!!

Comments: Sandy, Thanks for the golf invite. I have protruding discs in lower back and doctor has restricted me from swinging clubs. We are trying to keep them from rupturing. Surgery is probably due for end of year. I do appreciate the invite. If you guys ever get up a marble game we can talk or possibly a game of checkers. I might try the the pillow fights but now the girls know where my weak spot is. OUCH Alvin

Don Fugate, Senior Tour player from New Mexico is scheduled to give an exhibition at Twin Creeks in Allen at 1:00 tomorrow.
Comments: Sandy Joe, I regret to have to miss the first Bear Golf Classic. Bob and Wendy have bought a new home and close on June 2nd and have made it clear they want me and my trailer on duty for the move. Von will be keeping the BAY-RATS for the week and we will be moving all week. Sorry to miss such a great event. Yuvonne and I have Christie and her family at the top of our list. TORBETT, CHRISTIE BLEVINS Beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend went to be with her Savior on May 25th. Christie was preceded in death by her father, Reverend John Hugh Blevins, brother Steven Blevins, baby grandson Chance Kristofer Bailey and on May 22nd, sister in law Lovella Steever. She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Billy Torbett, their children; Amy K. Bailey, Adam K. Sullivan, Alyssa K. Torbett-Anguiano and Alan K. Torbett, Sons in law Merk Bailey and Ramon Anguiano and daughter in law Christy Sullivan. "Memaw" to Jordan, Brandon, Merky, Rayce, Mercadies, Caleb, Jacob, Josiah, Brayden, Harley and MacKenna. Christie is also survived by her mother Hazel Pearl Blevins, sister and brother in law, Barbara and Jack Dobbs, brother and sister in law Marvin and Frances Blevins and brother and sister in law Harold and Lou Blevins and sister in law Sandy Blevins. Christie also leaves behind her in laws, Buck and Mary Staton, and Herman Steever. Christie had 11 nieces and 9 nephews and many loved cousins. She will be missed by countless friends and colleagues, many of whom have known and loved her for over 40 years. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation in her name to: DREAM Fund, P.O. Box 600593, Dallas, Texas 75360. Funeral Service will be at 10 AM Saturday, May 31, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Duncanville, 323 W. Wheatland Road @ Santa Fe Trail.
