Jack...when my feet get wet, sometimes they become webbed...flat-footed, webbed feet..quack, quack.  I promise that border on Gordy's flowerbed moved and tripped me, but I came out with nothing more than a swan-dive..and I managed not to need a crane to lift me off the sidewalk....as I landed that trip with both feet (webbed) planted firmly on the ground....but it did hurt like the devil!  I had a great time!  Cheezehead, thanks for the award..I'll take it!

Just catching up on the GB and, like everyone, quite shocked and saddened to read about Debbie.  We're getting too many notices like this...everybody take care.

JD, all's quiet here but I'm shaking the bushes...I'll let you know.

Time to get the story straight! Gordy first brought out bags of those small water guns that leak as much water as they shoot and have to be refilled after two squirts. With those, I wasn't worried to much, even with all the gals pointing them at me, going "pow-pow" before they had any water in them. Then Gordy brought out four water cannons. I told him I would need one just to defend myself. He kept one and gave me one. Where the others went I didn't know. I filled mine at the kitchen sink and went outside. Gordy called out, "Come on, they'er in the bathroom filling up". Gordy threw open the door and opened fire and RAN. Next thing I know Gordy is gone.(He let someone "test drive" one of his cars and it quit a few blocks away.) Now it is four gals against me. Out comes Bruce with two pumpers blazing. I don't know where the white one cam from. I suspect Shortcake brought it with her. Even at two to one, thing were about even till Sandy MacM starting filling a small tub with water and trying to fling it on us. Then the low down sneak attack took place. KMG threw up her hands declaring she had lost her contact. From our childhood we all know that that statement causes EVERYTHING to stop. Sandy Mac came over to help and then they both opened up on me. Now I was completely wet, top of my head to my feet- on the front. Somehow Bruce now only had one gun and SN had his other gun. He said Toni took it away from him. Shortly after that a truce was called, after which the gals claimed victory. An independent audit taken showed the gals to be "wettest", from which Bruce and I claim victory. Pictures were taken for both sides claims. (Somehow I bet the guys victory shots will be "lost" or "unable to view") The rest of the evening was spent drying out and reliving the battles with the dry observers adding comments. While the rest of us stood in front of the coolers trying to dry off, I have no idea what SN and Toni were doing in those pictures. (Wait till you see them and then you post your guesses)  One side note. It is interesting to find that if you wet Toni's feet, she stumbles even if she is walking on a level sidewalk. As usual, Gordy threw a GREAT bash. Wonderful food and fun. Those of you who weren't there, you were TALKED ABOUT.  Too much fun!

JIM YOUNG & SNL

Back in 66 Soc and Sunset people dated a lot. Both my first and second wives were from upstart Kimble HS. I looked at link pages and was only able to recognize Victor Noah and Smokey Kimbrough. Victor was a great friend sorry to find out about his loss. Everyone has aged since 66 some real well and others not so well. I fall in the not so well. The old saying that if I knew I was going to live so long I would have taken better care of my self fits me to a tee.

Susan..I too want to see these photos...but also want to congratulate Toni as being the smartest woman there...white blouse and all !!! That is what I call a defensive move..and a very good one at that.

So Ms Rogers Jones...you win the July award for the "BRIGHTEST BULB OB THE PLANET".  WOW what an honor !.

Hope all had a good time at Gordy's for the Fourth. So sad to hear about Debbie's death. Debbie and I went way back, and she was about the only one left that still called me Jimmy instead of James, outside of Alton Day and family. Last e-mail she seemed to be doing better.

Well, Toni. So, I am PP and you are TT. Well, guess we better hit the Depends aisle at the store if we are to have those names. My daughter's first and last names are Beverly McKee. Guess what her initials are!!!!!  Poor thing. When she gets really sassy with me, I just remind her of her initials. haha!!!!

I just got finished with the vacuuming and thanks a lot for the new nickname turncoat - did I miss it or did we not give SNL a new nickname also.  I mean - she hung right in there with us even when she just had a "little" gun.  I'll have to go back and look!

I don't know about that Toni.  We didn't have to shower or wash our clothes when we got home.
Did you really think you were going to get the last word in?
I have to vacuum.

When my husband and I let Debra off after the 2006 Reunion, my husband commented that she had not stopped talking from the time we picked her up till the time we let her off at her home. She will be missed. She was a fun person to know. Jan Seals

Jack must be so sore, he can't even join us on the GB.
You know I felt like I was running fast.  Do you think to the younger crowd that it looked like we were moving in slow motion?

Next time we will bring a change of clothes for her so that she can participate.

Ronney, you are probably right about Debbie getting a laugh out of the misprint. She was born in 1947 and would have been 61 in September. Thank you Roger Polson for sharing your sweet memory of Debbie. I didn't remember that you were her date back then. I would love to see the photo if you ever come across it.

Shortcake, I thought you looked positively glamorous or at least as cute as a wet chihuahua, much like the rest of us girls (except the clever Toni with her "I'm wearing white so I CAN'T participate!" excuse).
