A coupla yrs ago, we lost our 15-yr-old dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix.  Unfortunately, he was suffering from old age complications that became unbearable & was put down.  We later rescued 2 younger dogs & they helped a great deal in absorbing some of the loss we felt.

Then last month, our 10-yr-old cat, a stray that originally appeared in our drive-way & adopted us, disappeared out of our yard.  We fear that the coyotes may have taken her, since she was so good about returning home in time to cuddle when we turned in for the night.  So, this week, we're adopting 2 younger Maine Coon cats, sisters that need to remain together.  If you've never heard of this breed of cat, try a Google search & be pleasantly surprised - they're huge & fluffy!

Having thought about the idea of 'trading-in' an older family member for 2 new younger ones, twice, I chuckled a bit & then reassured Kathy that I'm not even thinking about pursuing this trend any further - so, please stop giving me that hands-on-the-hips evil eye!

Jack -- Thanks for the dental info.  It's always good to have a referral.  I'll email the information to my daughter as soon as I leave the GB.

Happy birthday Karen MG and many many more.  60 is not too bad, just a few aches and pains and telling myself that they weren't there the day before.

Water fight girls -- did anyone take pics?  Next time bring a waterproof camera, then the rest of us can enjoy the event.

Thanks so much for the kind birthday wishes. SOC friends are the best! 60 is not so bad and I'm definitely still young at heart (I think they call that senility at this age, however). Today is also my daughter Erin's birthday so I remember well how I spent my 22nd birthday.

Happy Birthday Karen MG!
While a voice tells me that you once won a spelling contest by writing the words on your arms and inside your sleeves and Bruce and I know you couldn't hit a paper sack if you were standing inside it, you are a great kiddie and kidder, sport, friend and asset to our class. Hope you'll have many more!

Yes, I remember the "obgyn" in DeSoto giving free exams.  After going to him, those women should have gone to a neurologist to have their heads examined.

My daughter would probably enjoy going to see Bovie and visit with him, but as for the dental work, Oh, No. Interesting that he gave up one end for the other.  Go figure!
