Toni...I'm so sorry you're not gonna vote...but I wish you would do the same thing I did in 1976...I actually voted for Mr. Carter...but corrected my ways after 4 years with him.

RN...please...review the past 8 years..I'm not saying my man has the brightest IQ...but even he tried to get Congress to do something several years ago about this mess...and please remember...we have not been attacked since 9/11...

I put my money in Bonds over 8 months ago and although not doing great...am not losing money yet.

Toni...as I finish this post...I agree...we could have better choices on both sides of the isle...but as a VV...I have to vote for my man McCain...he is a stand up guy and has bucked everyone..and has no friends in Washington except Joe Liberman...whom I think is a great American.

Take care all...

Well put, Sandy McM....and Richard!  Sandy Jo...don't leave town without Bruce and me....we'll ride out that ship with ya....just let us hit the ATM at WaMu first.....no more investing there!!  Could we ALL (the USA) just take a deep breath, please?

Now hear this...this yellow-dog democrat WILL NOT be voting this time around....pitiful, pitiful, pitiful choices.  There, I said it!  There's no debate going to change my mind, and Michelle Obama put the icing on the cake for me!

Everyone hang on, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

Dale, I go along with you part-way on your remark.

Yes, Catholics should be allowed to worship when and how they choose.

The problem is the "where", since so many of the south-of-the-border Catholics are choosing to worship north-of-the-border.

Jack,
I agree California is a HUGE problem but believe people of the Catholic religion should be able to worship when, where and how they chose.

Southworth, we need to compare strategics about investing sometime; I took that same hit yesterday on a Wamu bond(corporate investment)...couldn't get out of it.  JD, sounds like most here are lifelong Republicans...I was until now. Don't blame the Dems (except Barney) for Bush's low IQ and record-breaking ineptness.  I'll give Obama a four year chance (at least Michelle will keep him away from the interns)

I think one thing should be pointed out about the "Buddy" plan. Those CEOs, Presidents, CFOs and others are all over 18 and will getting a share too.
I'm glad we are going to discuss politics here. This will be short and simple. All you #@%^*#*)(^#@! dunderheads listen to what I say and get in lockstep behind me and you will all vote correctly. Soon as we get this area straighten out we can move on to the REAL problem areas like California and Mass!

So happy to see ya'll are all big boys and girls and don't have a problem with discussing politics.  Just remember, if it gets dicey, please send your complaints to the person who posted the note and NOT to me!!     I really hate it when I get whinny emails complaining about what someone posted.

Two things this beautiful morning - - Buddy, you have the best solution I've heard from anyone!!  Give all adult taxpayers over 18 the money and let the financial institutions & the fat, rich & greedy executives running them go under!!!  I'm sick to death of all the CEOs, Pres, COOs etc being given Millions in bonuses for doing a terrible job and running a failing company!!  And when it collapses..they get a Golden Parachute!  Buddy, hope you had less then 100K in your checking at WaMU!

Lastly, did you see Rod's two Grandones!  They are so adorable!!   Ck out new pic on Pride & Joy.

Now, ya'll get back to solving this financial crises and I'll catch you later today.

Oooooooooooooooohhhh, SandyMc! Did you say "damn"? You go, girl!!!!!

I don't see a problem with discussing politics, either, as long as it is done in a constructive, non offensive manner. Too often people get abusive and start name calling when someone does not believe as they do. So, we need to be careful and realize that we all have differing views. That's the beauty of America. We have the right to agree to disagree. Like you, I want the best for our country; however, I always have to step back and realize that we all have the right to our own beliefs. And you are so right when you say we tend to sit back and complain. We all think we know what is wrong and yet we just sit back and do nothing.

Personally, I would welcome a good healthy political discussion here, as long as it is "healthy," stays with facts, and does not degenerate into name calling, finger pointing, and stupid assumptions. Everyone should be treated with respect in a discussion of this type. A good healthy exchange of informatilon would be good for us.

Dear Disclaimer,  Politics should be discussed.  If anyone gets their feelings hurt they can get over it.  Our country, which it won't be long is "we" don't do something about it is in the worse shape it has every been in and it's not because of Bush.  It's because we sit back and complain and don't do a damn thing about it, yes I said damn.  If I got started on health care I would be up all night, so I want.  Good night and sleep tight.  Love and prayers to all.

Geesh, it's enough to make me start drinking.

Buddy, I wish I knew if your WaMu dollars were going to be safe with JP Morgan. If it makes you feel any better, we bank at JP Morgan-Chase (used to be Texas Commerce Bank).

At JP Morgan they have a catchy little slogan ... "We welcome the small customer. We don't care if you're a midget as long as you maintain a $100,000 balance".

Now back to Washington Mutual (those dogs), last October I sensed a bargain in their stock when it dropped from $36 to $27 and picked up a 1,000 shares. Just one month later it slid to $17 and I choked a bit on the quick loss of $10,000. Sold it with bitter feelings.

But I feel better now, seeing that the stock closed today at $1.69 per share. I'd really be gagging on a $25,000 loss.

Yes, I am worried about the banking/credit/investment/mortgage industry. At the moment it seems to be on life-support and about to go flatline.

Happy Jack- To tell u the truth i'm good for nothing but if the gate keeper keeps me off the boat I'll have DL ban him from his email list of hot totes.

GB Management- Sweet Sandy debates (clean) are healthy. We as voters must keep the politicians accountable Rep and Dem. On the other hand 11/5/08 prey for and back the person moving in the White House. This is our generations failure

John S- JP Morgan biz flash today taking over WaMu. Good bad or ugly, my bank, CD's, Money Mark, Checking, Savings along with many other folks here I'm sure. Sounds like a FDIC controll move with no Wall Street of JP buying the WaMu stock which was just above 2 bucks a share. The big Qwsion are we safe ?

I think this is a geat idea.
I do have one question for us all. Where was all the outrage back
when President 42 (that is Slick Willie) was interviewed on TV about the surplus and said, well we could give it back as a tax refund, but y'all wouldn't spend it correctly. And so he didn't.
