In answer to your question, John, they are out there just like Nobama and Buydem. After reading Sally's article it seems that the Maverick family are no longer mavericks either. Don't ya just love the way the media uses the word progressive instead of liberal now??

Very interesting Sally.  Another little know fact about Texas and the great people living in it.  Honestly, I thought the article was going to be about the Mavericks Basketball Team!!  Thanks!

Hey Richard,

This evening I noticed the news is picking up on your earlier report about AIG squandering big bucks at high-end hotels, even though they just got through sticking their palms out for a multi-billion dollar bailout.

The report says they have a 2nd blow out planned outside of San Francisco (Half Moon Bay) in which they were hosting 100's of brokers who sell their products to big-buck clients. The brokers were also to get the full spa treatments etc.

Now under the scrutiny of the hot lights and cameras of the press, AIG has decided to cancel the event in order to appear cost conscious.

It looks more like they were partying on our tax dollars. What nerve. Post-Bailout Business as Usual at the big financial institutions.

Where are J. Maverick McCain and Caribou Barbie when we need 'em?

Not at all Jack.  In fact, W's only responsiblity in this instance, is placing all the pumpkin heads in his administration; led, of course, by the Great Pumpkin himself.  So, there's no real shortage...they just all moved to Washington, DC.  I see the DOW's down another 678 points "today".  I actually presented a report several weeks ago to my group calling for the DOW to drop to 8500....but, I didn't think it would happen in one day.  You're probably right Jack...the leader of the free world probably has nothing at all to contribute to it.

Thanks for the kind word.
I'm sure if we have Richard and John do the research, they will report that the pumpkin shortage is W's fault too.
Since there are several offers to buy the first drink, I'll go a different route. I'll buy the last drink.

Jack, I also heard that on the news ( musta been a slow news day)!  However, the 4 stores around here where I shop, Albertson's, Kroger, Neighborhood Market & Tom Thumb, don't seem to have a shortage.  But I did notice the price is about $1 to $1.50 more per pumpkin than the previous years!!  Hey, good news is... if you can't find a pumpkin, or in Jack's case you're too frugal to buy one, you can enjoy them on the HOME pg & other pgs on the site!!

SNL, I know that you have been busy setting up your kitchen, so you missed the news. Seems you need to change the banner on the home page. There is a shortage of pumpkins this year. It was reported on the news. Don't know if rainfall, Ike or farmers planting corn instead of pumpkins that has caused the problem. The church at Arapaho and Coit has a yard full. They sell them every year as a fund raiser. Maybe they should just send a member to play golf with the SOC group!
