Comments: Rick -- I'll keep my eyes open and alert when I'm on the road. Wasn't your truck blue or dark green?
Comments: Rickypoo - - Sorry Jack, it's an inside joke! Next time you t/w Rick, ask him about his truck!!! It has some unusual features!!! ![]() Another beautiful day in Dallas . . uh, I mean Richardson! After living 60 years in Dallas, I may never get used to saying Richardson!!
Comments: OK, one of y'all in the Duncanville area call the boys in the white coats. The effects of the Cherry Pit have finally gotten to Rick's mind. Sounds like he has gone over the edge. Going back to a very old joke, my 1st thought was to say Quite, Rick, before I nail your other foot to the floor!

Comments: Don't know how crudely equipted the pirates are. You might read this: http://my.att.net/s/editorial.dll?pnum=1&bfromind=7405&eeid=6220531&_sitecat=1505&dcatid=0&eetype=article&render=y&ac=-2&ck=&ch=ne&rg=blsadstrgt

Comments: JS, It is my understanding that the Somali pirates are willing to sell the oil to us at a cheaper rate than the Saudis. May not be a bad deal.
Comments: Jack, your earlier post about the Somali pirates caught my attention. I have been following their activities, amazed that such a thing can be happening in this day and age. Just two days ago the pirates took over a Saudi supertanker carrying crude oil valued at $100 million. Of course, they will demand a HUGE ransom for the ship, crew, and contents. It is remarkable that crudely supplied renegades can thumb their noses at the rest of the world and succeed time and time again with these hostage/ransom missions. Johnny Depp, eat your heart out!
Comments: Yes, we do have some new Grandones that have made first-time appearances. Louis Langford & Donna Hutchings have both sent photos of their cuties!! I'm conflicted too about whether to bailout the Big 3 Auto Makers or not! my first reaction was "Let 'em drown in their own self destruction!" Why should we, the citizens, bailout those 3 & let other companies go under? But then I began reading everything I could find on the situation and I see what a dilemma this is. If we don't bail them out & all go under, this country will see a recession like never before!! As Jack said, there are many small to mid-size businesses that furnish parts to the Big 3. They would have to lay-off their employees and possibly close, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of people who work for one of the 3 automakers!! Unemployment would skyrocket and the Dow would nose dive even further than it is now. Yes, I HATE the thought of bailing out someone who has mismanaged their company, paid huge bonuses for poor performance by their executives and pays their employees waaay too much for the work being done!! But, I look at what will happen to the economy if we let one or all 3 fail and that scares me even more! I say let 'em file Chptr 11, then we help them financially but with the stipulation they must rework contracts to be in line with the rest of America and no more bonuses unless they show a profit!!! Bonuses should be based on a job well done and a company making a profit - - not poor workmanship and negative annual reports. OK, I'm done. Don & I are going to take off next week, we both get Thur & Fri anyway, so we can work all week on the house. Ya'll have a good day & I'll catch you later.
Comments: Jack, Mitt Romney has an op ed in The New York Times this morning titled "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt". I haven't read it yet but will. Also, on WBAP this morning, they were talking about how the top GM guy flew to Washington in the company's Lear jet for a cost of $20,000 for the one trip! Must be nice! |
