As most of you know, our grandson Brandon’s body was recovered from Lake Ray Hubbard and his memorial service was held this past Saturday. Brandon’s dad, Mike, put together a video celebrating Brandon’s life and it was played at the service. It was a touching tribute to a fine young man.

Our entire family wants to express our sincere gratitude for all the prayers, visits, phone calls and overall support that has been expressed by so many. Many people cannot comprehend the what a close group we have in the class of ’66, but we all know what a loving and caring group it is.

RW...I can not disagree...I believe that McKee is in trouble for at least a year. HB Toni and Jimmie...and Toni...I'm glad to see that you and I are the same age...at least until February. I believe you look extremely young for reaching this golden age.

Southworth...I am amazed that you have not been shot with some of your comments...do you really think that our Toni would even come close to wearing a filthy Sombrero!!!

I'm sorry to her both my girlfriend & my Buddy are sick with the creepy crud!  Rick, you & Ada Ann get well real soon!!!

Ronney, I'm going to go out on a limb & say YOU are now on Toni's "short list", but I don't think it's the list you want to be on!!!   Be afraid my friend... be very afraid!!!!

Toni - - You young rascal you!!!!  Happy B-day today girlfriend!!  Wish I was only 60!!   Since the weathermen blew it & the temps are in the upper 30s rather than the lower 30s there's no ice on the roads.  It's safe to go out and kick up your heels!!!

Don L - I think it was very admirable of you to give your tree a scenic vac before dumping it in the dead tree place!!

Greetings to Toni-RJ from the Class of '63!

Here's hoping that Bruce takes you out to your favorite Mexican restaurant and forces a jaded wait staff to go through the motions of singing you "Happy Birthday" as you don a dusty, tattered sombrero worn by 726 other folks of questionable cleanliness.

Enjoy your special day.

I have a 2009 prediction, and that is, Ronney is in trouble for his
76YR comment about Toni.
Jada, I'm sick too. I hate the crud.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jimmy and Toni!! Hope is was/is great.

Don, next time you are up this way, I have a shrub that would like to see some other parts of Texas. Maybe you could put him in the back of your truck for a while.

Ada Ann -- hope you are feeling better.  No fun having the crud.

Toni -- Happy birthday and many more.  Hope you have a day full of fun, good surprises and lots of love.

Karen PH -  I was right about the store in Hico looking like the one in Fredericksberg.  One sofa in the store was on SALE for over $4,000+.  The material was beautiful, but out of my budget.  I just couldn't see my dogs and cats "resting" on it and I know they would.  I think the store in Meridian that I liked was Sugar Moon.  LOTS of stuff, but neat, and of course, I purchased a few things in there.  Karen, I want to go to that area in the spring; I bet it's really beautiful then.  Is there a certain time in spring when the bluebonnets and other wild flowers are in full bloom?

Thanks, Lynell, for posting the cruisers on the '63 website! If any of you want to go, there are still a few senior rates left for inside and oceanview cabins -- call me for details at 972-233-6889. We have 33 going and would love to have more SOCites and friends on our annual cruise on Royal Caribbean, Jan. 25-Feb. 1, sailing out of Galveston!

One of the SOC '63 girls is looking for a cruise roommate.  If you're interested, call me for more information.

Don't worry Don. we took pictures at the hotel and put them on the internet of your truck with the tree in the back of it.  You know - if you had let me know that you were so attached to the tree we would have transported it in the rv so it would have been safe for you.

Linda P, please don't tell too many folks about our beautiful part of Texas!  We're trying to keep it a secret!  I'm sorry you didn't call Jimmie & I while you were down, we would have loved seeing you.  Jimmie actually had his birthday off, although he was "fortunate" and got to fly Christmas Eve, Day, New Year's Eve, Day!!  But, as I said, he does get to fly and does have a job!!  Really, this is a beautiful part of Texas and really closer to the Metroplex than most think.  Any and all of you are invited down any time.  Oh, that store in Hico is owned by the same people from Fredericksberg.  The local story is the man who got most of Fredericksberg going is trying to do the same in Hico.

Coasty Don L., give Happy Jack and I a heads up next time you and your beautiful wife go out of town. Anyone that drives 450 miles with a Christmas tree in the back of their pick 'em up truck must have cold cash buried in the back yard. Good to see ya yesterday.

Spoiler - For the info of JD & anyone else Bovie hasn't yet been told, my Xmas tree, that was to be discarded locally beforehand, went along for the trip up to Dallas yesterday, secured in the covered bed of my truck.

I know that must've seemed like the result of a 'senior moment'.  But, the tree was loaded during the previous evening, before I checked e-mail & g/b.  Upon discovering that Brandon's service was the following day, I didn't think of the tree again - til I stopped for gas on the way out of Austin, well past the local drop-off location.  I felt it was more imperative to arrive up there on time than running around looking for another way to get rid of it.

We all had a good laugh - mainly, by those who recognized my truck & wondered why I would tote a tree all the way up there.  Bovie later commented that I should simply dump it in the lake, since it would make a good habitat for Crappie & other fish.  I decided against it, assuming 'Lincoln luck' would likely result in a citation & fine for illegal dumping.

So, the tree made the trip back with me yesterday evening & you'll be glad to know that I stopped at the drop-off location before arriving home.  Now that I know what a 'trashing' I took - behind my back - I'm glad I didn't help Bovie's chances of telling another fish story at my expense.

Pool Guy/Capt. Jack - Let's start digging up his yard, as you suggested - gotta be lotsa 'skeletons' buried out there.
