Ladies and Gentlemen...I believe that Chester Clinic was across from the McDonald's on Lancaster...about 1-2 miles north of Overton Road...but very close to the mall...whatever it was called.

Absolutely, Dr. John (what my family called him), and Dr Keene Ludden were household names in both Ed's and my families.  I believe the clinic was on Woodin in Oak Cliff.  Old Dr. Baker delivered three including me of my mother's babies.
Does anyone remember penicillen shots and sticks of Juicy Fruit gum?  He never made any housecalls to our house, but never refused to see anyone of us, no matter the hour.  (Seems to me the old method of doctoring was better.  We never ran around with runny noses.  A round of his shots, usually at least two and you were well.  Of course most of us at time got to stay home with Mom, not at daycare all day.)   Lucky, weren't we?
As Richard said, Dr. Baker's son became a dentist.  Dr Ludden's daughter, Linda, is a psychiatrist in Rockwall.  Small world.

Toni - Yes, I remember seeing the place where the old Chester Clinic was.  I remember us commenting on it, too.  I need to look at the picture again, though.  One of the things I was most surprised at was the way the Veterans' Hospital was expanded.  It looked nothing like I remembered.

Jack, I don't think Dr. Baker's son was a "Jr", so it might be one is the son...but, I'd guess his age around late 60's or into the 70's (if memory serves,(which it does less & less).

Happy Birthday, Sally & Mike..... hope you both are enjoying your special day!

SNL, I remember Howard McAfee so well from Mr. Kallstrom's class.  He always tried his magic tricks on me!

Susan, I heard about that website on the radio.  Looks like it would be a great incentive builder.  I think I'm going to give it a try!

Wasn't Dr. Baker/Luden somewhere off of Jefferson or Zang Blvd?  Ada, I went to Dr./Mrs. Chester.  If you looked at the picture album I brought to a mini reunion, you would have seen what the Chester Clinic is today!  Sandy McM, do you remember.  Seems like it was some sort of mom and pop grocery store or some government office.  Linda P, do you remember?

Happy Birthday Sally and Mike!! Hope to see you both at the next get-together.

Richard, I have two Dr. Bakers as customers. David Baker and Richard Baker (not related). Is either of those your doctor's son??

I went to a female Dr. Chester at Chester Clinic.  And of course we can't forget the wonderful dentist, Dr. Hamby.

Linda P., Dr. John must have had lots of experience treating impetigo; he treated me for it (on my leg as well), around the 4th-5th grade I think.....it still looks like a bullet went through my leg (I'd make that claim but JD would know the difference).

Hey everyone!  I heard about this on the radio this morning.  You upload a photo of yourself and it shows you what you will look like if you lose 30 to 40 pounds!  I haven't done it yet, but the DJ said it works!  It might be a good incentive to get those Christmas pounds off!

I saw Elvis this morning in Duncanville -- he had just come from a gig at the cherry pit or RW's!

Happy birthday to Sally and Mike -- hope that your day is as sunny as ours is here in Dallas County.

Richard -- I think that I took my oldest daughter to Dr. Baker (very very round at that time) when she had impetigo on her leg.  Seems like the clinic was in the middle of Oak Cliff (somewhere). I did go to Chester Clinic, but don't remember the doctor -- were there doctors there other than Dr. Chester?  What's sad is that sometimes, I would like to ask my parents questions about my childhood and they are no longer living, and I don't have siblings to ask.  Right now, I'd be calling my mother to ask her questions about Chester Clinic and Dr. Baker.
