Comments: Thank you EVERYONE for the birthday wishes to all of us 1/8's (Elvis and David Bowie included). My daughter ( also a 1/8) and I did the traditional lunch at Serendipity so that she could have the mint frozen hot chocolate and then a movie--Slumdog Millionaire-- I highly recommend it. SNL, as little as I remember you would think I did a lot of drugs but I did not. I think Phil Wilkerson and Leonard Reese sat in front and beside me along with Lyn Willis-- that was my little chat group. I know that Karen Pearson was also in the class-- It was one of my favorte classes and the little I remember is more than I remember from other classes! Dr. Chester was my sunday school teacher at Glendale Presbyterian Church-- He is the one that taught us evolution and how it fits with the Bible. We had a good group at that church!
Comments: Sandra -- I do remember some rotund old doctor in Oak Cliff treating Audra in the 70's. Was there another doctor that met that description at Baker Clinic? What is a mystery to me is that how can a doctor that big tell anyone to lose weight? Even back then, he was obese.
Comments: Doc D, hope you have a very happy birthday. In and out and on and on
Comments: Oops....happy birthday, David Mitchell....you and Ada need to have another face off on oldies but goodies! TGIF!
Comments: JD, Chester Clinic was closer to Griff's than the original McDonalds which was just north a block or two from the Crest Theater...The new McDonalds in downtown Dallas reminds me so much of the original on Lancaster Road but much more fancy. My family listened to all my stories about the original McDonalds as we took a short-cut through downtown Dallas on the way to the Texas Tech/Ole Miss game last Friday. My son gets a real kick from my stories. He says that he was born in the wrong era...he loves the 50s and 60s! Linda P - I'll bring that photo album again to the next get-together!
Comments: Happy Belated Birthday to Sally Taylor and Mike Dunn and Happy Birthday to David Mitchell who I am betting is going to have "a good time" just like in the old days with the Mystics.
Comments: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOC . . . Mr. Music Man!! Hope you have a good one with many more to come! I'd sure like to see you and Shirley this year at our next party!!!
Comments: Jack, since Barbara Arnold posted she'd been delivered by Dr. Baker, he would have been 10 years old if I'd been referring to him.....you've been inhaling too much of your customer's laughing gas...you're slipping. The dentist son would have to be at least in his 70's as I believe I was still a teen when he was a dentist.
Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to David Mitchell, today! Hope you have a great one & that we’ll see you again at our next mini!
Comments: Happy birthday to David Mitchell. Have a great year and many more to come.
Comments: Barbara you are right about the location. I also remember the Juicy Fruit Gum. Linda, Dr. John Baker was deceased long before Audra was ever thought of. Toni, Chester Clinic was at the far north edge of Kiest-Lancaster Shopping Center. Baker Clinic was the only time i fainted and i still remember the smell of the smelling sauce. (i think that's what it was called)
Comments: Richard; was that the doctor's or the dentist's age? His age when? Now or then?? You confused me good!
Comments: Barbara, Dr. John delivered at least 5 of my cousins I know of.....kind of interesting he touched so many on this website and we never knew it. This thing I remember about his dentist son, was he had bad breath and reeked of zit make-up; funny how that can stay with you.
Comments: Ladies and Gentlemen...I believe that Chester Clinic was across from the McDonald's on Lancaster...about 1-2 miles north of Overton Road...but very close to the mall...whatever it was called.
Comments: Happy Birthday Elvis, where ever you are. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Thank you, Thank you very much! |
