So Jack, not that I'd want to stir up another whirlwind of politics, but I note that Democrats consistently fight the notion of lower taxes....now I know why; they don't pay their taxes anyway so who cares ie, Tom Daschel, et al.  Any thoughts Southworth?

Jack, a helmet wouldn't have gone over that hair...too much hairspray (I was adhead my time).  You may be right about the pads in the pants; I remember the ol' potato in the pants trick to try and attrack girls, but my brother told me I should have put it in front....go figure.

Richard, You know you would have NEVER put your helmet on, it would have messed up your hair!!! I'm sure the girls would have enjoyed you in uniform. Specially those pants!! You would have probably put the hip pads on backwards.

Buddy, you didn't find any film of me combing my hair did you?...now, that would be archive material.  I remember thinking about joining the ball team, but I couldn't really run, hit, catch or throw the ball...I just thought I'd look good in a uniform.

SNL caught me.  83 miles each way to/fro work.  Several years ago, Mike Jacks and had lunch together and two years ago Don L.  and I had lunch the day before the ceremony for Victor at the Wall.  Stay warm yall.

My sympathies go out to our cold climate classmates. Remember, you are all welcome to return to Texas at your earliest convenience. Thank you Buddy and Gary for being so generous. I know all the players will appreciate what you are doing. The Golden Bears were a phenomenal team and gave us all plenty to cheer about.

I am also "Chicago tough".  I drive 53 miles each way from home (in northern Virginia) to work (in Rockville MD) and back daily.  Only once when we got over 40" of snow have I truly been unable to get around up here.  The reason they are so quick to close the schools is the Maryland and Virginia like to keep the "revolutionary war" look by not building freeways.  We have lots of two lane road with no curbs.  Not good for school buses.

I think Naldo (?) is Ron Barker. He lives in Orange, VA.

I'm sure by now most of you have heard thru the grapevine that I have a bunch of old 16MM film from SOC.  That's why I needed the 16MM projector!  At first I thought it would be lots of film from our 60s era, but after viewing the films, not so much!  As it turned out, more than half of the films were from the 70s era.  How do we know you asked?  Because the film was very "dark" and SOC was playing Pinkston, Lincoln, Roosevelt, etc!!

But I do have good news!  There are 4 games played in the Fall of 65, which wd be from our class and 4 games played in the fall of 66, which wd be for the 67 class.  The games from our SR yr are: Spring Branch, Grand Prairie, W.W. & Adamson.  Here's more good news!  Gary Hudspeth & Buddy Capps frm '67 have stepped up to the plate & are fronting the entire cost of having these 8 games converted!! It ain't cheap! The 67 cl is very excited bec many of them played as JRs & then of course as SR the next yr.  So their football guys want all 8 games & are willing to take the initial hit for doing it.  The films are of little interest to anyone except the guys who were playing the game!  But I know it means a lot to those who are in the films!

If you were a football player & played in the above 4 games our SR yr & wd like to relive the Glory Days, send me an email & I'll give you the time & place you can view these games.  The date is Sat 2-21 & Buddy is rounding up all his 67 players.  You guys are welcome & in fact, PLEASE come so you can see first hand what we have.  Buddy is working with McGee to round up as many 66 players as possible.  They will be taking orders at the viewing and ya'll can have your own DVD of the games!  The more who buy them the less they'll cost!  But Please, don't send me lots of emails asking a thousands questions if you are not a football player.  I know we have lots of football Lurkers, so if you are interested in seeing these games & possibly ordering the DVDs send me an email & I'll give you the specifics.  Oh, and of course I'm ordering a copy of the DVDs of our games as I figure Fugate Productions may want them for future use!!  We must preserve our history & help keep the old Gold & White SOC Alive!

Sorry for the long post but it is time to let the cat-out-of-the-bag.  BTW, you have Buddy Capps to thank for spending the entire weekend looking at all these old films & meticulously identifying them!  It was hard work, but someone had to do it!

Thank you Buddy & also Gary Hudspeth for being so instrumetal in making this overtwhelming project happen!  The class of 66 appreciates you!!

Que pasa? No entries since yesterday? Am I the only one awake? I've become "Chicago Tuff" and came to work in a snow storm (Crystal City).  I can see the Capital from here.  Maybe after he drives his kids to school a couple of times he'll buy the District a few snow plows and a load of salt.

Note to Self:

Late this year find a way to safely land a plane full of passengers on the Hudson River, thereby assuring yourself an invite to the next Super Bowl game.
