Comments: Thanks, all, for your kind anniversary wishes. Kathy & I had our 'bad old days' with former spouses. Those experiences taught us: (1) to take our time with major life-altering decisions, (2) it's never too late to find true happiness & (3) the value of 'home' that we & our sons hadn't previously enjoyed together.

Ada Ann, you were such a tomboy like me. I remember catching crawdads in the creek behind Clara Oliver Elementary with bits of bacon tied to string. My younger brother and I would catch a bucketful and then release them after properly "frightening" our older sister and others with them.
Comments: Ronney, Different Doc Hamby.....Emmitt was our dentist growing up. His nephew, Ray, is the Pedodontist. John S., is your wife really from Henderson? I have a cousin who is from there....Bettye Lynne Turner Scarborough.

Sandy Mc., the only hotel I know of at Half Moon is the Ritz-Carlton where AIG held one of their paaaaaaaaarties. Since you're a tax-payer, check in there and put it on AIG's bill.
Comments: Hi, BLB: The UMHB girl (now the SHSU girl) is doing great. Finishing up work on her Masters at Sam Houston State. She is interning counseling battered women and children. Rather than say she loves her work, I should say that her work is satisfying. She enjoys helping others in distress. This line of work is not a surprise to me, seeing as she was always the one who nurtured distress friends while she was growing up. It seems to come natural to her. Hope you are doing fine. I read that you lost your job. Have you found another. Send me your e-mail address and I can converse with you there rather than take up the GB space. I lost your e-mail address when my old laptop crashed and died.
Comments: SOUTHWORTH: I see from your list that you went to Dr. Hamby for your dental work. My two kids went to Dr. Hamby until around 5 or 6 years ago. He's a great dentist and super nice guy. The best dentist for children in the Dallas area, in my humble opinion. When I was a kid, my parents dragged me (kickin' and screamin') to Baylor Dental College, because it was cheap. They always filled my teeth without numbing me. I HATED that. They once pulled a tooth and discovered that I had to have more novicane than normal to numb me. It was a torture test and took three people to hold me down in the chair to pull the tooth. That was a horrible 3rd grade memory. A year or two later, I needed another tooth pulled. The night before the appointment, I spent most of the evening in the bathroom, pulling the tooth myself. I felt better doing it myself than having the dentist do it. Sure do wish we had gone to Dr. Hamby instead.

Comments: Thanks for the anniversary wishes. SNL, The answer to your question is YES. Connie is very much Irish. I have a little Irish and Dutch, but am mostly Scottish. The McKees came to the US from Scotland in the 1800s. The Darceys, who changed their name to Dorsey, came from Ireland in the 1600s, I believe. One of my ancesters helped lay out the streets for the town of Annapolis many years ago. I guess I need to visit that town and see how well he did. I am also a cousin to the huge Harrington clan in Plano. Don't know any of them, though, as my part of the Harrington family moved south of Dallas (Wilmer, Hutchins, Patrick, and around there). Connie's maiden name is Ryan. How much more Irish can she get than that!!?? Her family mostly settled in Tennessee. She is also a part of the Leiper family from Tennesee (around Murfesboro [sp?]. Leiper Forge (I think is the name of the place) is named after her ancesters. Enough of my family history. Thanks for the thoughts. Now EVERYBODY go out this evening and celebrate our anniversary!!!! By the way, our wedding falling on St. Patrick's Day was completely by mistake. We didn't realize what we had done until we had been engaged for a week or so. We decided to leave our wedding date alone, seeing as it seemed to be a proper day for us to be wed.

Comments: A true St. Paddy's Day tale: This morning I awoke before my wife (as always) and decided to make a pot of "special" coffee to commemorate the day. I remembered we had a bag of Irish Cream Coffee in the pantry. Dru is the former "Dolly Gannon" from that Irish part of East Texas known as Henderson and she knows her java. As she sipped her first cuppa' joe, she commented "This doesn't taste like Irish Cream". To emphasize the point, I grabbed the bag to demonstrate the error of her deduction. To my surprise the bag is labeled Jamaica Rum! Uh, isn't Jamaica that little island off the coast of Ireland?
Comments: So Toni, we have you to thank that the Horned Toad is on the Texas indangered species list. I remember catching them and letting them go.

Sandy Mc/Shortcake....KarenMG reminded you why I stayed in the house....and that was the truth plus I would have looked worse than a drowned rat...you know I was and am on your side...just wait until next July 4th!! Happy Jack, the ladies didn't see any signs of you and Bruce being gentlemen ...you guys were relentless.....but we'll see who is wins this 4th of July!!   I love all the Top Ten lists!
