Deanna’s g/b note, 12/07/11: “Today is Pearl Harbor Day and our 43rd anniversary! Gary likes to say that two disasters happened on this day. I thought I would surprise him in this "card" and tell him that I love him more now than ever in our lives. He is the finest of men, and he is also the biggest sign of how much God loves me. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, GARY!”.

Major c

H a p p y  B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Duane Chafin for Dec. 7th!

Duane – I guess we’ll always have to rag you about putting your folks thru child birth on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day.  Of all the dates you could’ve chosen for your surprise 'attack'! [biggrin]

Best wishes for many happy returns!

Catching up from being away this past week.  My condolences and prayers go out to the families and friends of Larry Lewis and Alton Day's daughter.  The news hasn't been very good on here for several weeks, but with the support of the 'prayer bears', we trust our friends will be comforted.

I'm also sending positive thoughts and best wishes for a speedy recovery to Carol Carpenter following retinal surgery.  I know she's anxious to be back home again and reunited with her kitties.

Overdue b'day & anniv announcements to follow ...

Dana Rich was so nice to get back in touch with Donna's sister to get more detail about Donna.  Yes, unfortunately, Donna Hutchings Miles passed away March 30, 2020 from Parkinson's Disease.  She had moved from Houston to NC as her son lived there and he was going to take care of her.  Another SOC '66er has passed away. Richard is right, lately it's been a lot of sad news here on the GB.

I spoke wit Carol C. this evening and she is at her brother and sis n laws house.  They will take her to the Retina specialist in the morning and bring her back to their home until it's OK for her to return home.  The kitties are at the Kitty Hotel for now.

Carol - I've been thinking about you since yesterday.  These Retina Specialist are good.  I've been seeing one since May 2018.  I have to go in few minutes for my follow-up visit with eye Dr but will call you when I get back.  It will be fine & it's not as bad as it sounds.  Prayers up!

Since some of you aren’t on Facebook - and since I need all the help I can get - here is part of a recent post from me.
A few weeks ago a “macular pucker” was found in my left eye. On Wednesday I will have surgery to correct that as much as possible. The retinal specialist refers to the surgery as “routine”, but I’m still very nervous (read that “scared”) about it. So - I will appreciate any good vibes that you can send my way, both for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Thanks!
Love to all. Stay well. ❤️

Pretty grim reading on this site it seems; lots of sorrow.  I wish everyone well as we all navigate this planet as best we can.
