McGee, I wouldn't know which end of the mallet to hold?

Happy Jack, Cable Guy Fugate discussed today you taking the day off and joining us in the Mini golf day. We will buy your lunch, pay your bar tab, and bail you out of jail.
Cable Guy has new clubs, a John Daley swing, and a desire to kick Cheezehead's rear.
We are expecting a good turnout, anyone that wants to play contact myself or that rascal Wilmer Capps 67'er.
Bottom dealer Steve Gray has reappeared. He heard the pot was gettin' big, and the boy wants in on the action.
Doc Southworth, why don't you and Rancher Smiley make a showing?

Happy Birthday, Donnie!! I waited so we could stretch it out a while. Funny, when I'm in the joints is when I feel younger.

Just surfacing for some air after the crush of the 15th.  Thanks for the kind words re the twins.  They seem to be doing very well now and the new parents have adapted to their roles.  Joyce and I are elated to have finally joined the Gparent club.

Congrats to BLB on his new grand child.  Also to Ada.

Happy belated Bday to DWF.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those with medical situations.  I know that the Gbook provides a whole lot of comfort for those in need.  We are all so fortunate to have a place like this to keep up with each other.  Without the Gbook, it would be much more difficult.

Earlier today on the '63 SOC Guestbook, I was badmouthing Ben Oefinger (Class of '61). In the old days I had a romantic interest in young Dianna Cottle who was going steady with him. Finally, after he graduated and left for college, I was able to swoop in on the defenseless Dianna.

Sandy Lynn popped in and mentioned perhaps Ben was related to Chris Oefinger? Open the .pdf file below and go to page 2 for an update as of 2007:

Any of you attend Bushman Elementary? Here is a pic of Ass't. Coach Ben Matthews with legendary head coach W. W. Bushman at Sunset in 1931. Bushman later became principal of Sunset around 1942.

In 1943 he enlisted in the Army as a Captain. Fifteen months later (then "Major" Bushman) he died in a plane crash in the China-Burma sector. In 1944 the school board voted to name a new school in his honor and memory - thus, W. W. Bushman Elementary.

[many thanks to Pokie Wilcox for letting me borrow her late mom's 1931 Sunset yearbook]

Thanks for all the bday wishes. I really don't feel any older other than I can feel it in my joints.

Had a great weekend last weekend with The BMF Project and will have great weekend this next weekend when my lovely bride comes out to Arizona.

WOW JS - Mr Matthews was only 61 when he passed away!    He was a good man & that's why so many people still talk of him & what a great principal he was.  Thanks for furnishing the wonderful obit.

Well, here is a rather large clue as to the identity of the photo I posted earlier today. In 1943 he was the ROTC Commandant at Sunset High and he was forty years old at that point.

In April of 1964 he passed away, as described here (after going to the link, click on it to enlarge the image):

Happy Birthday to Donnie F. I'm sure Barb has the perfect gift waiting for you!  Celebrate like it's 1966!

Congratulations to proud grandparents, Jerry and Joyce Tillery. You hit the jackpot getting two beautiful grandones at once.

SNL, I think you have something there with your guess. There is definitely a resemblance.
