Comments: Richard, Happy Jack, Dandy Don L., may I make a suggestion that all 3 of you gentlemen join us in our Friday golf outing in June. Four hours with us would give you guys ample time to solve the problems of our great country. Where else can you enjoy to intellect of J.D., stories from Cold Cash Dagley, pole dancing by the Botox Kid, trash talking by Bay Watch Capps, Cable Guy Fugate will hit booming drives. We can get clubs for you, the beer is cold, the hearts are warm, and you'll laugh till you cry.
Comments: Jack, I've known Bovie since grade school....I can't think of anything bad to say about him....I can't even come up with a bad joke.....I can't even come up with a "...when he was 11 he (whatever)" kind of comment. I just never understood why he didn't have any friends. (kidding)
Comments: Richard, why not go for the over top? Say bad things about Bovie too. Even the kitchen won't be safe for you. You might as well go fight the fires with your garden hose.
Comments: Linda, you're right. I finally tripped SNL's trigger and she's turned up all four Wolf burners....this is one of those cases where I can't take the heat and I'm going into the kitchen. In the meantime, I'm going to look into her comments to see how many Canadians are swimming over into the US. (don't you just hate a smart$#$%, SNL?)
Comments: Did I hear someone say Mexican Food on the 9th!!!!
Comments: As far as I'm concerned, we need border control like they have going in/out of Canada. While I was in Buffalo & Niagara Falls, NY last week I saw lots of ads on TV for getting a Go Card. Eff first part of June, you have to pay $40 pp ( all children included, no one is exempt) to get a pass to go across the Canadian border & come back into the US. You are fingerprinted & get a photo ID pass. If we spent as much money on border control & actual walls with gates to keep illegals out as we do on the unnecessary pork belly spending, we would have a safer & better America. We all want people to immigrate into America, but don't we expect them to be productive, participate, contribute to the Gov that helps support those who are truly unable to make it on their own, and for Gods sake .... don't criticize the motto on our coinage "In God We Trust". There are plenty of countries that don't believe in God. So don't come here & yell discrimination because you happen to be an atheist! The sooner our Gov stops bending over backwards trying to appease the people who want us to take God out of the equation and prayer out of schools and realize that the majority of Americans want to keep it . .. the better off the country will be. I'm done, 10-4, over and out.
Comments: Ronney -- sorry about the job; but where one door closes, another better one will open. Keep your spirits up. It is a beautiful day today. Richard -- were you going back into the kitchen to prepare some of the NM chocolate goodies?
Comments: I took a lunch break & checked for updates to see what's happened here since earlier this a.m. Looks like we've wandered into one of our favorite 'spirited' subjects again. SNL - The 'Republicrats' & 'Demublicans' all understand that term & our anguish quite well. They also understand that 'we the people' have no means for pulling the equivalent of an emergency brake when our gov't is out of control. They've fixed the cards, chips, table & house rules so that everything they do takes a long time & responding to us with more than a form letter or e-mail takes even longer. When the 2010 campaigns start-up, they'll be chummy as hell again. The one thing we all know they dearly care about is getting our votes to stay in office (power, control & stature). But the other thing they tend to care about even more is preserving the 'tag-team match' system, in hopes that we'll never have more than 2 choices - left & right. I knew we were in seriously deep s**t when it became obvious that George Bush & Ted Kennedy were both on the same side of recent immigration issues. Both sides generally wanted open borders, but they couldn't agree on how to impose it - just like they all couldn't agree on & pass anything else of significance, due to party bickering. Meanwhile, we all suffered - still are. Back to work now.
Comments: I was wondering what would set you off. I don't disagree with you on this. I don't think it's the "biggest" problem we have, but it is out there. I'm going back in the kitchen now.
Comments: OK Richard, now you've set me off. It's not the "immigrants" that bother me, heck my Grandpa & his Mom & Dad & 7 bro & sis immigrated from Austria to Ellis Island back in 1892 (we think it was that yr) & migrated down to Crawford. It is the "illegal" immigrates that bug the heck out of me!!! They come here illegally, don't pay taxes, can't speak English & use all our services that you & me pay for with the sweat off our back from working hard at a job. I pay a considerable sum of money ea yr in taxes for my home. A large portion is due to school & college taxes... I haven't had a kid in HS since 95 or college since 99. The DISD has to hire not only bilingual teachers but also have full time classes (not extra curricular & on your own time, but as part of the sch day) to teach English to the Illegal Mexican children! Their parents are not here legally & don't want to learn English but they sure want us to educate, baby sit and feed their children. Yes, I said feed. The DISD showed the percentage of children in DISD who were given free breakfasts and lunches every day because they were considered low income. OMG. I read it in the paper & hear it daily on the News when they talk about how many "illegal immigrates" are treated at Parkland Hospital, how many children are feed at the elementary schs, etc, etc. What I don't understand is this.... What part of Illegal does our government not understand!!??
Comments: Nice catch there Jack...this round goes to you.
Comments: Richard, I know you were required to take history classes. Did you pass them?? You seem to be rewriting history, which is very popular with the left side of the country. Are you confusing the finders with the founders?? Yank away, my friend!!
Comments: SNL, I knew we could depend on you picking up on JD's mixed up dates...I did too.
Comments: Ronney, sorry to read that post. That's some nervous stuff for you I know. Kind of levels the rest of us while we jerk each other's chains (me & Jack). Actually Jack, we probably don't have a fundamental difference of opinion on most of this. But, since this country was founded by illegal immigrants many of whom did not speak English, I just give the current generation an opportunity to develop. (now I'm really @#$@!@ with you Jack).
Comments: Yesterday, as I was about to leave the office, my boss asked me if I had a minute. I went to his office and was told that the large contracts aren't coming in as quickly as they had hoped and that they are changing the focus of this job. They are now going for more small federal contracts and want to find someone with a ton of experience in that. So, tomorrow will be my last day on the job. He assured me that this decision has nothing to do with me or my work and promised to give a strong reference for me. Needless to say, I am shocked and numb. My luck just never ends. So....it's back to the job hunt game. I am sure sick of this. |
