How fitting (and almost predictable) that the two top spellers would emerge victorious in the "Name the Riders" contest.

I have it on good authority that when Richard Nance had his photo taken on old Buttermilk, his mother insisted that Richard wear a hat so's folks could tell which one was the horse.

Below is a rare Boude Storey photograph of Richard's date to the 9th grade Valentine's Dance. He always had an eye for the older women and this familiar gal had recently turned sixteen:

RN, I also had my photo taken on that pony at about 7 months of age so I don't really remember it. I don't look half as cute in my photo as these two classmates do. As a teenager, my dad used to threaten to show the photo to my dates just to see me panic. It was his idea of a joke, albeit a cruel one.

I am so happy to be one of the first winners in the photo contest and anxiously await my free drink! Since I am now ineligible to win again, I will share with you my secret. First, I draw a white beard on the tot and if that doesn't work, I whiteout a receding hairline on the photo. Alas, this doesn't work well on the female tots, so you are on your own there.

It took a little more than 2 1/2 hrs to get the two correct answers.  I'm happy to announce the winners as Karen MD for identifying Jack Hawkins as the Cowboy & Dale Smiley for for naming Sandy Lynn as the Cowgirl.  Congratulations Karen & Dale!!  Now Happy Jack has two drinks on his IOU list!  Next pic will be Wed, 6-3.

JD flew over the cuckoo's nest? Never! No amount of torture could send him over THAT ledge.

Quick update on JD- Still in the Mad White Man's Rehab Center, that is why he has not posted in a while. Said he is starting to see the light now and MSNBC 24/7 has helped. Said Polosi is starting to make sense to him now. Regrets all the bad things he said to RN, and the left side of his body is getting stronger and stronger everyday. Kid if he is out by 6/12 said if his team wins would like the money to be a donation to Acorn for helping him in this time of need.

It's been over 2 hrs and no one has been able to guess who that cowboy imitating Roy Rogers is!  Where's Gary Dagley when you need him?

SNL, I have no clue.  However, is there anyone on this site that does not have their picture on that pony?  I remember that guy roaming around door to door leading the horse and posing kids. I have one with my brother Jack riding (or sitting) one behind the other....hat, chaps & all.

C'mon Susan, Richard & the rest of you GB viewers . . .  gimme your best guess on the Cowboy!!  Yes, someone has correctly named the Cowgirl.  Answers will follow after both riders have been identified.  Can't believe ya'll don't recognize that Cowboy!

Mary Rogers, what a kick to hear from you.  I think we had classes from Boude Storey on.  Think about the 13th gathering...they're kind of fun, even if Southworth shows up.

The pics are up & I'm getting lots of guesses.  So far everyone thinks the Cowboy is Sandy McGee.   W-r-o-n-g!

Remember, make your best guess as you get only one guess per picture per day!!  If you haven't checked these horse riders out, go to our Misc Photo pg & make a guess!  No winner on the Cowboy yet!!  However, Dale did correctly identify the name of the horses!!

Mary Rogers, so nice to hear from you, it's been a long time. Hope you are planning to join us on 6-13 at the Double Tree for our semi-annual get-together!!

Sue Owens -  Hope you are still planning to join us too!!  We really have a lot of fun as it is casual & never a dull moment!!

Thanks to Ronnie Townsend from '68 for contacting me as we are always pleased to have new people join us.  Turns out CCR wasn't Credence Clearwater Revival after all . . .  it was Bob Clifton frm '62 aka The Peach Guy!  You two should come to our party on 6-13 & Bob, any chance you could bring a few gallons of that scrumptious ice cream!!!
