H a p p y  B i t h d a y wishes go out to James Young, for 6/10!  Jim, sure hope you have a great one & that we’ll see you again at our next mini on 6/13.  But, if not this time, please don’t pass up too many, or some of these old fogies will forget who you are – like some others who shall go unnamed.  Best wishes!

Betty,
We have a true shortage of Special Ed. teachers in Texas and as you know. an even greater shortage of really good ones. Thank you for helping those that need a little extra help. It is a true calling.
August, Yuvonne and I will be married 39 years. She almost has me trained like she wants me.
I went to Lisbon for one semester in 1st grade, then they opened Clara Oliver. We must have been at Lisbon at the same time. Do you remember the smells from the cookie mfg. co. across Lancaster ave? Seems like they baked chocolate 2 days then vanilla 2 days. I guess they packaged on Fridays. I stayed hungry. I was in Mrs. Blacks' room. (Quietly studying in the corner so as to not bother anyone)
Hope you get to come home sometime when this bunch is partying. It is quite a sight.

Smiley, I am a special education teacher.  I taught a self-contained behavior disorder class for 11 years and now I am a learning disabillities teacher working with students in grades 3-5.
I got a late start teaching.  I went to college right after HS, but had to drop out and of course you know how the story goes--- I finally went back to college in '87 and recevied my BS in elementary ed in Dec. '90 then my MS in special education in Dec. '93.

I was reading back through the posts and saw that someone just celebrated their wedding anniversary of 33 yrs.  Gale and I just celebrated 39 yrs. June 3rd.

Have a great time at the party on Sat.  would like to be there, but it just isn't meant to be this time, but hopefully sometime I will make it to one of the get togethers.

My gosh, I saw a mention of Lisbon.  That is going back.  I went there the first four years I was in school.  Actually the first 3 1/2 years since I moved  in the middle of 4th grade.  Mrs. Stanely was my teacher in first and second grade.

Whoever it was who confused me with Sally---THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
----Yes ZOOMIES are an awesome bunch, and please forgive us if we can't contain our love for Zumwalt! It was such a wonderful, beautiful, exhilarating place to be at a wonderful moment in a sweet time of our lives. It was a place where everyone was loved, cherished, and there were smiling faces everywhere, no one felt left out of snubbed. It's hard for those who weren't there to understand.

Rev, I don't think those word slipped off the tongue. I think they took a running start, jumped up and down twice on the tongue and did a double flip, a jack-knife and ended in a swan dive into a world of trouble and hurt! OUCH.

Sorry Karen, Mike told me you are on the wagon. Didn't know you didn't know yet.

WOW -- the claws have come out.  JS, you're treading in deep water.  And Dale, I remember the "homely" remark you made.
