Comments: Dru and I rolled in late Sunday and are still unpacking and trying to adjust to the change in Time Zones (N. TX vs S. TX). We had a FINE time at the mini. So many surprises from being inducted into the Class of '66 to a first-time meeting with the Litchfords. Carol L. worked with my mother (Patsy) at Xerox for many years and it was a kick hearing her tales. Also, most of you may not have noticed but Denica Duncan from Adamson High ('63) snuck in for a few minutes to do some "slumming". I hadn't seen her since the 7th grade at Boude Storey. It was touching to meet Richard Nance and his daughter, whom I assume was traveling with him to fulfill some sort of Father's Day obligation. Was disappointed that the Smileys disappeared "without a trace" and that Sheryl Bunyard phoned in with a medical excuse. The news article set in motion by Don Lincoln, J.D. and the guys was indeed a tear-jerker. A job well done by all involved. I really enjoyed all the folks I got to visit with us and only wish I could have spent a little time with each of you. Saturday evening we had a dinner engagement in South Lake with Barry Gibbs ('63) and his wife Joan. Saturday morning I had breakfast with 3 guys who were former co-workers in the 1965 era at Southwestern Life. It was a BIG day for us in Big-D.
Comments: McGee, I know this is gonna be hard for you to understand, but I'm gonna 'splain it to you. You guys keep the same name forever - we don't!! We girls put our maiden name to help ya'll know "who" we are.
Comments: If Daniel Chesley is reading our GB we tank him for letting us know that Eddie Chesley passed away on 6-12-09. Our condolences & prayers go out to you & your family. He will be missed.
Comments: I was saddened to learn of Eddie Chesley death today. He and I were were good friends. Eddie was one of the four SOCites that I entered Texas A&M in the fall of 1966 with. The others being Jimmy Hughes, Rick Lanier and Larry Richter. I lost track of him after our freshman year. He too will be missed.
Comments: Bob Round just posted a few Da Bear Golf pictures from 6/12 on 67 web. Take a peek
Comments: Beautiful Ms. Toni, I was only playing about the last name . My sister uses two last names. I honestly don't understand the use of both. I will tell you, she played with Barbie and Ken dolls. She got tired of Ken, buried him in the backyard. She did keep his credit card.
Comments: Bruce - Butterfingers and I played Buffalo Creek on Lake Ray Hubbard a few weeks ago. He poked me and started pointing at the Lake laughing jumping up and down and just a carrying on and said "look at those idiot's out there fishing in the rain." True story! Bruce I don't know about the Fingers as an instructor. Don't get me wrong he hits his woods great, but he has a terrible time getting out of them.
Comments: Toni-that is called selective hearing and I think that 100% of men that have been married for 24 hours learn it - even when their hearing aide is turned up!
Comments: Bruce, you're in my man. Any dude that can convince his wife he can't hear is our kind of guy. Tell us your secret and it may not cost you anything. Call me, I'll get you started. One other thing, this is Texas, we need to work on that 2nd name thing.
Comments: butterfingers, can you teach me how to swing a golf club?? Man, I need some help to stay up with DA Bears....and what's it gonna cost me?
Comments: Bruce Rogers JONES just got the kitchen cleaned up from making the spaghetti salad....the only left is the ceiling but he's doing a great job in five-minute intervals... Don Lincoln, there are just not enough words to express your thoughtfulness. You are one in a million!
Comments: PS. The group pictures are priceless! Thanks, SNL
Comments: That's your opinion McGee. I tried to get Barb to have Jack dance to take up the pizza money. I'm sure we could of got dessert too! ![]() I am sorry to hear about Eddie. Your family is in my prayers.
Comments: Ms. SNL, When you receive my vote in the mail, please disregard. Happy Jack has decided to become a member of the DA Bear Golf Group. I guess we will see how he plays before we take a vote. (hope he putts better than he dances with a belt).
Comments: Dandy Don , Rick, Barry, Odis. You guys are a class act, period. Presenting that to his Mother is a very loving and kind gesture. All of us SOC people are proud of you, and glad you're among us. |
