Place: Very wind in Richardson Comments: Right about now a fire in the fireplace tonight and a hot cup of coffee is sounding pretty good! We're going to have bout 5 days of really cold weather. Temps dropping as we go thru the day but the wind is gusting very strong. Bring your fur babies in and don't forget about your pipes. Stay safe and stay warm!
Place: New Year in Richardson Comments: Happy 2025 SOCites!! A new year and the promise of new beginnings and opportunities. My wish is for all of us to have better health and to see each other more often. Here's to a great new year and our continued friendship. ![]()
Place: Richardson Comments: With only a few days left in 2024 and we approach the new year, it brings back good memories of days gone by. Hope everyone had a safe and good Christmas. My wish for the new year is for no more crazy people shooting up our schools and killing kids and teachers. Also, for our politicians to start working together to take care of our nation and bring us peace and better conditions here in the USA.
Place: Fulshear, TX Comments: Happy 37th anniversary of our 40th birthday to my twin SNL. As you may remeber I quit having birthdays after my 40th. Seriously, Happy Birthday to my twin. I do not post very often =, but I do check the Guest Book regularly to keep up with what is going on. Thanks again for all you do to keep us all in touch with each other.
Place: Sachse Texas Comments: Hold on there, Sandy. I have had it marked on my calendar the 22nd for years. NOW you tell me that is wrong? Oh well, one day one way or the other. Like the man said, "it was a lot more fun being 20 in the 70's than it is being 70 in the 20's.
Place: Richardson Comments: OK, hold on. Let's not rush making me and Jerry a year older any sooner than absolutely necessary! It's tomorrow, the 23rd. Can't believe I'm going to now be declared to be in my "late 70's" Say what??? Seems only a few years ago I wasn't even 50!Thank you Jack for being a good friend and you've always been there when needed and I'm honored to still call both you & Jerry my ol' Lisbon Friends! Happy B-day tomorrow, 23rd, to Jerry. Hope it twill be a great one for you and you celebrate with your great family. We Lisbon people just keep getting better with age!
Place: Sachse, Texas Comments: December 22. A very special day. It is the birthday of two very good people. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Sandra Norman Lynn, AKA SNL and my brother by a different Mother, Jerry Tillery. I have know these two (and a few others) since starting at Lisbon Elementary. Life has taken us many different places and different experiences through the years, but somehow not separated us. Something about our common childhood and upbringing has bound us and keeps us in touch. I have relied on Jerry throughout the years and he has always been there for me. I hope I have done the same for him. Sandy and I lost touch for a while but she has helped me since regaining our friendship. I value and treasure, not only these but many other, friendships. Today is SNL's and Jerry's day. Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, may we celebrate many more together.
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: The Randle Lions of Richmond are indeed a remarkable team. The high school only opened in August of 2021. The school is named for Dr. Thomas Randle who was a Fort Bend County Supervisor for some 20 years. His son, Brian Randle, was chosen as the very first football coach when the school opened. In a mere three years he built this championship team. SOC was trailing most of the game. Even suffered the humiliation of having the opening kickoff returned for a TD (never a good sign). In the 3rd quarter SOC briefly took the lead but from then on it was all Randle. Still, after all these years I feel proud the Bears made it to the finals in a division that started with 170 contending schools.
Place: Richarson Comments: Darn it, we lost by 3 pts. That last few second wide left field goal that would have put the game into overtime, missed by a mile. But they put up a good fight. So proud of our SOC Bears!
Place: Uvalde Comments: SOC lost a heartbreaker when last second field goal attempt was short and wide. 38-35.
Place: Uvalde TX Comments: SOC plays for the State Championship tonight in Arlington Texas at AT&T Stadium. The game will be broadcast on various cable television channels.
Place: Richardson Comments: It's with a sad heart that I must let you know our friend and classmate, Danny Fugate, passed away on Dec. 10. He and his wife lived in Midlothian, TX . Unfortunately, I have no further info to share at this time. He was one of the founding members of the Mystics. RIP Danny and tell David I sure miss him. Glenn Struble is the last remaining original Mystic still with us. He was from the class of '67.
Place: Richardson Comments: It seems like everyone certainly had a good time at the Girl's Christmas Luncheon Saturday. Shortcake is right, the food was so good and the desserts were irresistible. I ate so many of those candies and the pie and cookies I had a sugar high the rest of the afternoon and night!
13 of us attended and wow, after more than 50 years (no need to be exact ) after graduation, we're still gathering and still having fun. Thank you everyone for the food and the gifts and to Barbara for inviting us to her home!! Already looking forward to the Spring Mini. ![]()
Place: McKinney Comments: We had our annual Christmas luncheon for the SOC66 ladies at Barbara Fugate’s home. The house looked beautiful With all the Christmas decorations. Barbara made enchiladas and everyone else brought sides. The food was great, especially the desserts, which SNL can attest to. Pretty sure she left with six containers! The guys that were there left and went to Hooters for lunch! There was definitely a lot of talking, laughter eating. Thanks to all the ladies that brought gifts for everyone. I am sitting here looking at candy and wondering if I can eat it for breakfast! Thanks again Barbara and Sandy. You did a great job. See you at the next mini!
Place: Richardson Comments: Rusty, Good memory!! Nice to hear from you!
