I sent this obit link for Eddie Chesley to our vets earlier this week, after seeing his brother Daniel's g/b post & exchanging e-mails with him.  But I didn't see this photo til today - posted by his employer, LL Bean:

This is Ed's page on our vets' website:

Great photo of the grandone, JS. I know you both are proud.

SNL, the pictures look great. We didn't take any photos this time because we were too busy talking to everyone and forgot.  Sandra MC, you look great and so do all the SOC women and wives of SOC men as well.  Susan S., I love the photo of you. It's just beautiful and you need to get a print of that. Sue McDow as always has that beautiful animated smile. And Barb F. always has a gorgeous smile in every photo. It was really a fun time and I hope the pictures encourage others to participate who may not have in the past.

P.S. The guys were lookin' good as well.

Congratulations to John Southworth and family on the new arrival. Isn't the Southeast Texas baby boom attributed in some part to the lack of electricity, tv, computers, etc during Hurricane Ike ?

In my previous post I meant to say that Reid was the 264th baby born this month at our local hospital.

Dru and I asked a nurse which way the "Maternity Ward" was so we could view all the babies through the window. Turns out they don't do that anymore. Each baby stays in the hospital room with mom and is delivered in that room rather than the old cold delivery rooms.

Guess I've been out of the baby loop for too long.

OH, and Baby Reid was wearing a little stocking cap when we first saw him. My first thought was "oh, no - he's got ringworms like Rudy Cates in the 8th grade". It was just to keep him warm.

Doc Southworth, Baby Reid is a winner. Great looking little guy.
Baby Clayton McGee held to the McGee tradition, asking for a XL jock strap before leaving the hospital.

Happy Jack, I will be available for golf swing tips and fashion selection. Availability based on amount of cash in your hand.

Footnote: As of Midnight, June 18th, Baby Reid was the 264th baby born at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands. I am amazed that the county has this many births going on!

The hospital has 36 maternity rooms and yesterday had to start mooching additional rooms from the regular part of the hospital.

Oh John, he is so cute!  Glad ya'll will now have the experience of having a G-Kid close enough to hold & enjoy!

Thanks for the well-wishes. The young man will be called "Reid Allen Murray". Named after the fathers of Ken and Kristen.

Technically, young Reid is the fourth grandchild between Dru and I, but the first that we will really have access to. Dru has a daughter in Florida with two children (now 21 & 14), but we seldom get to see them. Then my daughter Jill had her baby in May of '05, whom was soon adopted.

So we are doubly excited that Reid is only 7 miles away which will most likely be great (but could backfire on us). Here is an introductory pic of him at age 18 hours:

JS -- Congratulations on your and Dru's new grandson.  It's a proud moment for a grandparent the first time they get to see and hold "their little one."  P.S. Don't worry about Reid; everything will "go down"  just like on you older guys.  That's what I've heard anyway, since I have 3 girls.

Congrats to JS & Dru on the new Grandone!!!  This is your first isn't it?

Hey Gang - Since JS was awarded membership to the class of '66, does that entitle his Grandone to Pride & Joy status?   Hmmm, I guess if he has full membership he should be entitled to all the rewards.  JS - send little Reid's pic in as soon as you get your camera back & get a good pic!!!   Seems our kids have been drinking the affected water not only in Dls, but Austin, The Woodlands, Garland, etc.  It's a real epidemic!

Sure Jack . . . cks in the mail.  But I get naming rights as to "what" is written across your butt!

Well SNL, if that is the spot you want, OK. No apostrophe s to show possession though! I was thinking more of down the leg, but you pay, your choice. Will you be sending a check?
Sorry, Toni. Bruce will have to find and work out a deal on his own. Say, maybe a lawyer's office would be interested.
Congrats John and Dru, now the fun starts!
