Rick, by the grace of God they were spared.  Thank heavens that their injuries are not life threatening.

WOW, after reading about everything that's going on with My fellow SOCites, I hate to mention this. My daughter Wendy and her family were headed by car on vacation. They were slowed to a stop on I35 in Desoto because of construction when a truck hit them from behind, they were hit or pushed into other cars at least 4 times and twisted around. The car is totaled and they spent the whole day in the hospital. Wendy =Bruised,
cracked Ribs, Jim=dislocated shoulder, Kamryn = sprained ankle and bruises, Cullum = Bruising of the body. Can you imagine a Mommy in Pain and disoriented trying to console and care for her children after an accident like that. If only I had been there to help. It was 9 hrs before they set Jims shoulder back in place.
My family was lucky because I think others were killed.

Don I am so sorry to hear the Hodgkins has reappeared.  Please let him know he is now part of Ada Ann's KickA** Club & he will most definitely have my prayers along with many many more from this GB Gang!!  I know how difficult it is when your younger brother is very ill & you feel so helpless!  All you want to do is Fix It . . . and you can't!!  Please keep us posted on his condition & hopefully some good news soon!  Keep praying.

I don't want to spoil the moment, but I do want to borrow some of that powerful prayer & direct it toward my brother, Doug.

He recently completed almost 2 yrs of treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma & was receiving glowing reports of progress using a single IV drug, Rituxan (Rituximab).

Several weeks ago, he began having lower GI problems & wound up having surgery to remove a section of his small intestine.  Lab tests revealed the presence of Mantle Cell Lymphoma, another form of Non-Hodgkins.

So now, he's been ramped up to a full-blown chemo treatment known as R-CHOP - each letter stands for 1 of 5 drugs in the 'cocktail', with R being his original med.

He's having 3 initial chemo sessions, at 2-3 week intervals, followed by tests to determine the effects.  He's had 2 treatments so far & they've both kicked his butt for several days - very little strength or energy & sleeping a lot.

But, he's been able to bounce back afterward & carry on somewhat normally til the next visit.  I expect we'll have some results by the end of this month & an idea of next steps.

Til then, you know what to do - what we do best as a group.  Many thanks in advance.

Ada Ann -- Glad to hear you are having minimal side effects and on the downhill slope of the chemo.  I know you'll be glad when you are finished.

Good news about Dane.  God is good.

Good to hear from you, KA Ada. You keep on keeping on. You are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. IF this heat wave hangs around all of us maybe coming to spend a few days with you. Gotta be cooler there. It was a cooler and wetter July than I can remember in a long time. Fugate must have left the gate open in NM. The high pressure bubble is moving back in from the west.

I love hearing the good news about Dane and Kick "A" Ada Ann. You guys just can't fail with your great attitudes and determination to beat it. We continue to support you both and lift you up in prayer for complete recovery. We love you guys.

I had a treat spending the day with my 9 year-old grandson yesterday. We played baseball at the park, watched "Wall-E" and went to Hawaiian Falls Swim Park. It was definitely a full and fun day.

Jack:

Sounds like some of our ladies in our class...or am I viewing the future with incorrect colored lenses?

Or is this reality today?

In any event, nice message from our seniors!
