Comments: Haven't been on here for a time, man the things you miss. It is wonderful to have those guardian angels from the Lord to watch over us and protect us as happened with some of our SOC familly recently in a car wreck. (from what I could piece together reading the back posts.) The ones I read about who are fighting cancer or some disease, you will be in my prayers. Our God can handle it all. As for me yesterday was my first day back for a new school year. It seems that here in Topeka, KS school starts earlier and earlier each year. Until last year I was never in school on my birthday, and this year we started on Aug. 5th, two days before my birthday. These are the start dates for teachers to be back on duty. Our students will start on Aug. 12th which is still way to early. The weather was really nice here for the past few weeks and we have had the rain that you need down in Texas. However this week we are heading back up into the 90's with lots of humidity. I am still thankful that it is not in the 100's like all of you in Texas have been experiencing. I hope it cools off for you soon and some rain would be nice.
Comments: Mr. Bear was named after mine & Barb's hubbys. It actually was done as a nice jester. Let's just leave it at that . . .
Comments: Wonder which Don she is leaving out??
Comments: Uh, . . . unlike his namesake, the other two Dons!!!
Comments: Yes, Don Bear is still with me....and he is a very good listener!
Comments: McMakin, I'll 2nd that motion!! As much as we love Ada Ann, she doesn't need any more new members in her KickA** Club. Is "Don Bear" still with you? Just remember when he hugs you, he's our proxy & you know the hugs are coming from us! ![]() A bit of good news is in order. Heard from Barbara Dobbs (Christie's sister) & Bill Torbett goes home frm hosp tda! Amy will be with him. The Blevins/Torbett family knows the class of '66 well & any cards sent to Bill (Christie's hsbd) will be greatly appreciated.
Comments: Don, I am sorry to hear about your brother. I pray that his days will get better and his health will be restored to him. Ada, it's good to hear from you. I think you have enough club members. I'm praying that your club has no more members new members. Think about you often. Still praying for you. Dane, it was great to hear your good news. Rick, how scary. I am glad to hear that everyone is OK. That was a miracle that they weren't hurt worse.
Comments: Don - I'll be praying for your brother, and that God puts his loving arms around your brother. Rick, thank heavens that your family lived through the wreck. They certainly had God's angels surrounding them.
Comments: Just saw the GB today and a lot of prayer is in order, much of it praise to God for sparing Rick's daughter, son-in-law and his grandchildren. And more prayers for Don L's brother Doug to win his battle and to be feeling good again. Now that he has been inducted into Kick A's club, he is sure to succeed.
Comments: Wow, can't miss a few days on the Soc board! Rick hope your beautiful daughters are doing better, what a scare that must have been. Don, we are all praying for you bro to get well soon, and Kick A keep on Kicking A**, it is really paying off!
Comments: Oh my gosh Rick! That was on the news, had no idea it was your precious family involved. I35 has been very deadly this yr, both South of Dls as well as North. It seems 3 of the accidents N. on I35 near Gainesville were caused by 3 different truckers not paying attention & hitting stopped cars!!! The one earlier this wk killed 3 & seriously injured 6. Drivers, no matter what type of vehicle they are driving, are not watching the road or paying attention!! They are texting, talking on pho, changing radio stations, etc & they never even slow down before they crash into the stopped cars. Rick, prayers go out for a speedy & full recovery for all of your family. Yes, indeed, they are lucky to be alive based on what has happened in the other crashes on I35 recently.
Comments: Rick, by the grace of God they were spared. Thank heavens that their injuries are not life threatening.
Comments: WOW, after reading about everything that's going on with My fellow SOCites, I hate to mention this. My daughter Wendy and her family were headed by car on vacation. They were slowed to a stop on I35 in Desoto because of construction when a truck hit them from behind, they were hit or pushed into other cars at least 4 times and twisted around. The car is totaled and they spent the whole day in the hospital. Wendy =Bruised, cracked Ribs, Jim=dislocated shoulder, Kamryn = sprained ankle and bruises, Cullum = Bruising of the body. Can you imagine a Mommy in Pain and disoriented trying to console and care for her children after an accident like that. If only I had been there to help. It was 9 hrs before they set Jims shoulder back in place. My family was lucky because I think others were killed.
Comments: Don I am so sorry to hear the Hodgkins has reappeared. Please let him know he is now part of Ada Ann's KickA** Club & he will most definitely have my prayers along with many many more from this GB Gang!! I know how difficult it is when your younger brother is very ill & you feel so helpless! All you want to do is Fix It . . . and you can't!! Please keep us posted on his condition & hopefully some good news soon! Keep praying.
Comments: Don, you don't have to ask....Doug is in my prayers. I will have him in my club.....strength in numbers |
