Comments: Hey if I had known i had friend in Taos we could have all gone to lunch and made a party out of it! Yes John thought we should be cleaning house or cooking instead of being on the computer....I did inform him that I considered that to be men's work!   I actually keep up with most of the people I know on Facebook now.....I don't even have to write anything - just read what they write.

She and Bruce and Karen are always harvesting their crops. And if they are gone, like on vacation, they have someone do it for them

Comments: Late last night while messing around on Facebook I noticed that Karen LR and Toni were both logged in. So I experimented with Facebook's "chat" function to horn in on them and chastise each for piddlin' around on FB instead of mopping and doing kitchen related duties. Toni reported back that she and Karen were "busy" playing some dang Farmerville game. Toni and I did make "tentative" plans to leave for Vegas in a few days. As I understand it, we'll be in room 1407 of the Luxor.

Sue Sue and Sandy - Congratulations on your 40th. I'm babysitting and spending the nights in McKinney for the next 2 days while my daughter does her inservice training for preschool.
Comments: TNX for the update KMD. We looked for ya'll in the crowd but didn't see you. I heard the P.A sys was bad & Jerry still has some tweaking to do in several area, but all in all . . . it looked fabulous! Toni, TNX for the reminder abt Bill Torbett! His colon surgery went well & this is starting his 2nd wk home. Amy & Alissa are taking turns staying with him. But he also has a tumor on his carotid artery & they re having to wait until he gains his strength frm surgery B4 pursuing that issue. So I shd hve added two Bill's to our prayer list! Bill T is Christi Blevins Torbett's hsbd.
Comments: Congratulations to the McGees on 40 wonderful years.  And Bob B., congrats on Sarah's entry into TCU. I know she will be a great success.Kathy, I will be thinking positive thoughts and prayers as your daughter has her surgery today. My heart and prayers are with all our classmates and also their families who are battling illnesses. Our class is a tough and determined and supportive group and I am grateful and proud to be a part of it. Yes, SNL. Mike and I went to the inaugural game last Friday night. We actually got there at 3:00 p.m. and tailgated until gametime. Mike likes to be early to get a good parking place (sheesh!). Unfortunately, the seats in the stands are not cushioned and they are a bit narrow. But it is quite a place and the big screens are ridiculous big. The sound system needs work as announcements over the PA sound like the Peanuts gang waa-waa-waahing instead of actual words. I think it has something to do with all the glass in there but they are supposed to be working on it. We saw Paul McCartney there on Wednesday night and he sounded great but he had his own sound system. I can't believe his voice still sounds so good. It was a great show with 2 encores.
Comments: SNL, sorry to hear about Bill Smith. Hope he's doing better. Any idea how the market is doing on American Greetings or Hallmark?? SNL, any more on Bill Torbett? Happy Jack, thanks for talking to Bruce yesterday. You made his afternoon! He's serious about the tourney. Richard, great story about Stevie Wonder....fell for it - hook, line and stinker!! Old Sky Hag....you can run into Shortcake and Cubby in just about any town you might find yourself....they've become the All American Travelers!! We would too if we had that rolling mansion! Kathy, when do we get the details on the B&B??? Prayers continue for all friends in ill-health....condolences to Sue Sue McGee as well.
Comments: Ada Ann, as Pres of the KickA** Club you certainly know how to put up a good fight & to encourage others! I love you & you & the others are in my prayers daily. As a reminder, our grp needs to continue to pray for Ada Ann, Donna, Dane, Charles & our extended family Doug (Don's bro) Bill (Jeanne's hsbd) & Shannon (Kathy's dtr). With all the distance between us we need to stay in touch via this GB, pho calls, cards & emails. Oh, KarenMD - Did you & Mike attend the inaugural gala at Cowboys Stadium Fri nite?? Tell me, how were those cushioned seats? The 'Boys did us proud Fri. Going to be a great season!!!!  |
