Comments: Dandy Don L., are you saying as I walk down the fairway in my Loud Mouth Golf Slacks at the golf tourney, I should not walk backwards? The Botox Kid and Bay Watch always told me the glare of the sun hurt their eyes.

Comments: Don L., you should write a book on your many adventures while stationed in New Orleans, well maybe not all of them.....reading your post below..... you have such a way with words !!!
Comments: That settles it Susan, after what Don L said, cancel my order for those GOLF Pants.
Comments: Before I retired from the CG & left New Orleans in '96, we had one last major blowout during Mardi Gras. I recall a large gang of cross-dressed trans-characters parading down Bourbon St. wearing just about every inconceivable hideous costume you can’t imagine – wigs, make-up, masks, feathers, heels, boots, bikinis, leather, whips, chains, boobs & butts, plus other “accessories” from French Quarter specialty shops. They looked like a major collision of what Richard describes as the inhabitants of Laguna Beach & that extra-terrestrial saloon scene from Star Wars. I think the ones walking backwards were 'trolling'. Til Susan posted that link today, that was the last time I saw anyone wearing those golf pants!
Comments: All I can say is that at least I am going to get some colorful pictures if you guys dress like those pictures!!!!!
Comments: Sam, .....I ready.
Comments: Anyone realize today is the last time all of us will live to see 09-09-09? Anyone care? Tell you all something tomorrow about my job. Thirty years working at the worlds largest manufacturing of cheerleader uniforms, cheer and dance camps and championship events. I have the West and Midwest Region. It'll knock your socks off when I tell you the money issues we are having with these schools youth orgs and gyms. Get ready. See ya on 10-3!
Comments: By the way SNL....Bovie, in those pants, would be a huge hit in Laguna.
Comments: Yes, the unemployment rate is the piece that hasn't gotten any better yet...supposedly slowing. Calif. is 11% and a couple of the rust-belt states are hitting 27% unemployment....that's a staggering number. I had to lay off a number of employees over the past couple of years, but we've hired a handful back lately. Southworth....you're ignoring my emails....how can I plan retirement without your oversight and wisdom?
Comments: Amen, Sandy!
Comments: Oh c'mon Richard, let the boys have fun. I think Bovie would look great in those polka dot pants & McGee is more a plaid type of guy! As for the economy . . . yeah, I see some small upturns & our housing seems to have stabilized. Lots of folks taking advantage of the 8K 1st time buyer credit & also the incredible low interest rates. Saw 5.35% for 30 yr fixed. Wow! But, when you're out of work & searching diligently for a job without any luck . . . the economy doesn't look all that great! Don was laid off Apr 2 & is searching daily. We have so many of the large Telecommunication companies in Dls that it really affects the economy when they all lay off 10-15% of their workforce! Just to name a few . . . AT&T, Alcatel, Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia, Fijitsu, Nortel. Nortel filed Bkrptcy in Jan & then converted to a Ch 7 & sold off all their divs. Don's co was the outsourcing sales arm of Nortel. They were required by new owners to cut back! Our unemployment in Dls has reached an all time high, although not quite as high as the Nat'l Unemp of 9.9%. I'm still hopeful Don will find the job he is so desperately seeking, but the Telecomm industry isn't currently adding any mgr jobs in sales. When Don gets another job, THEN I will say the economy has improved! ![]()
Comments: SNL, those outfits have been all over Laguna Beach for some time now...and they're not golfers either. The statement below came from the Federal Reserve system today: "The Boston, Cleveland, Dallas, Kansas City, Richmond and New York regions credited the first-time home buyer tax incentive with spurring sales. Most regions reported downward pressure on home prices, although Dallas and New York said that prices were "firming." So, are you folks sensing an economic recovery...or is it too soon yet?
Comments: Pool Guy & Bovie - Make sure ya'll look at the web link below provided by Susan! This is right up ya'lls alley!!
