Richard, with all our talented SOCites, we could do our own G-rated "main stream movie take-off" productions like---

"The Wild SOC Bunch"---

"Wuthering Trinity Heights"---

"War and Pease Jr. High"---

"The Lionette in Winter"

"The Last of the Oak Cliffens"

and the extra G rated "Old SOC Girls Gone Blind"

I note that 48 of the US states are adopting standardized curriculum for schools k-12; the holdouts are Texas & Alaska (according to a news report this morning).  I don't have an opinion on this, but what's the problem with it....maybe a Smiley response.

As far as movie titles, I just notice the almost-x-rated titles appearing on Showtime/HBO that are a take-off of mainstream movies...the titles at least are pretty clever.  Two of my favorites are "Saving Ryan's Privates" and "These Hills have Thighs"......I haven't seen either... Southworth can probably critique both.

Toni; if you say so, OK. I wouldn't know. If it was a movie, I missed it and if it had anything to do with hallmark, I boycotted it.  Did you and Bruce get a round in the last couple of Saturdays??
JD, you'll have to mark your own helmet. I'm saving mine in case I ever get short. From the looks of things, I'm in for the duration or at least until the hands or eyes quit working.
You and Richard feel free to chime in with your titles, I don't mind. Remember, if you get bleeped, it wasn't me!
Anyone interested in, as they say, the rest of the story remind me at the next gathering and I'll tell ya.
Is today Sandy Mc's birthday??  If so, Happy Birthday Ms Mc!!

Mr. Nance...would it be inappropriate for me or you, or anyone to take Toni's comment about the TV titles we could give to a movie about Jack being offed by his parents and grandma!

Happy Jack,  didn't Dennis Bishop or someone we know make a "Made for TV" movie about your unexpected trip home...or was that a Hallmark commercial?

Good for you JD! It's always good to have a plan.  Sorry to have to tell you that we plan to be traveling with Shortcake during the time you will be in this area. Sorry to miss you.
Buddy, true story. While I was going to UT my folks sold our house and my Grandmother (who lived next door) sold her house and moved. This all happened very quickly. I caught a ride home (at that time freshmen were not allowed to have cars in Austin) for the weekend, planing to surprise them. I was dropped off at the house and I was surprised to find two empty houses!! I had to go to a neighbor's and phone an Aunt to get a phone number and call my parents. That was the last time I came home unannounced.

I deeply appreciate all of the support to visit my classmates after retirement...and all the offers of food and chores...but then I would expect to do some work to pay for the months I expect to stay...

Tomorrow's BD Girl is moving from De Soto to the Holiday Inn Express? That really changes her housekeeping duties doesn't it?

J.D., If Kathy and you could plan your trip to NH in Jan or Feb, it would be greatly appreciated.  It is a nice time to get out of NH, so you could be in charge of the dogs, snow and plugging in the generator if necessary.  Thank you in advance.
