Comments: Good job Linda, Please let me know when you have another ESA fund raiser Garage sale, I'll donate to it.
Comments: Happy Anniversary to the Davises and the Youngs. Sorry I'm late. I was leading the search party for Toni and Karen. El Fenix said they hadn't seen them. They don't allow blondes in the building on May 5th!
Comments: Happy Anniversary to Geneva and James and Karen and Mike; hope that you had a very blessed day. I belong to a philanthropic women's service sorority - ESA (which is international) and we had our annual cancer walk in Duncanville last Saturday. Last night at our monthly meeting, our treasurer shared with the members that we made over $16,000 for cancer. Last year we gave Methodist Charlton Hospital a check for $12,000 to go towards paying for mammograms for women who do not have insurance or cannot afford to pay and for men's prostate exams who have no insurance or cannot afford to pay for them. The areas we service are for people in Duncanville, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Lancaster zip codes, although under special circumstances we will help anyone with cancer in any area. I know that many of ya'll are involved in worthy causes and it's a good feeling to know we help in even a small way to ease someone's pain.

Comments: Update from brother Doug this afternoon: "Day 51 Hello, this is Doug. It is good to back among the living, writing to you again. The Lord was definitely with me, and has been with me during this time. The stem cell transplant process is over. I still have some days of waiting for recovery to take place and for blood cell counts to increase. This will go on for several more months. They let me come back to the hotel this afternoon but I have to return at 8pm to the hospital. I will be officially discharged from the hospital tomorrow afternoon. Susan and I will come home Thursday and return again on Monday for a checkup and central line At that point I am officially complete with the transplant process. I will have to return for occasional check-ups, but I am pretty sure that will be done in Temple." There's still a ways to go & many test results to be reviewed. But, I/we thank you for your many prayers that helped bring Doug back from the 'dark side' to enjoy this blessing.
Comments: Thanks for all the kind comments regarding the bumper crop of wildflowers & my attempts to capture their beauty. I just wish my camera could really do them justice. We have a large crop of Mexican Hats coming up in our vacant lot next door, so I might have a few more pix of them in a coupla weeks. Thanks to our flock of Whitetail 'nibblers', all but 1 each of the few Bluebonnets & Indian Paintbrush blooms on either side of our driveway are gone. I guess we didn't feed them enough deer corn - they're so spoiled. ![]()
Comments: Dr. Hawkins, I'll run your suggestion by Dru and get back to you. Karen, on the internet, it is customary to cut each other some "grammer-slack". |
