Comments: Toni -- But Serius is not FREE! One of the things I'm doing today is having to schedule TIME to call U-Verse and see why our cable bill has gone up the last 2 months. We had Serius when we first bought our new car and it was nice. Sandy McGee -- don't get overheated at SeaWorld and I hope you're not trying to pass yourself off as their parent.
Comments: I keep telling you all the trend is XM/Sirius radio with plenty of oldies and able to call in and make requests, etc. It's really reasonable AND no commericals!!! Try it, you might like it!!
Comments: A quick heads up for Butterfingers. I'll keep it short so maybe he can grasp it all in one reading. Butterfingers! Tubing and fishing are NOT ALLOWED at Sea World. Do not buy a tubing or fishing permit from anyone. Also, the skiing show does NOT allow audience participation. Try to refrain from uttering the words, "watch Grandpa do this". Have a great time!!!

( Those Knotheads will love that ) We are taking the 4 grandsons to Sea World. Comments: SNL -- I have loaded many oldies on my iPod. One CD I have and loaded on my iPod is "Do Wop" music. Once I learned how to operate it in the car, as often as I drive to McKinney I get to listen to lots of good music. I'm sure that the person(s) that stole my 1st iPod out of our car was surprised that the music was mostly old stuff and country. No heavy metal or rap.
Comments: Speaking of good ol' Ron Chapman, he was one of my neighbors when my family moved from Oak Cliff to the north end of White Rock Lake while I was in college.
Comments: Sam I was so disappointed too that Ron Chapman & the grp he joined up with to create the 96.7 oldies didn't make it. It lasted maybe, almost a yr & was gone. One day I tuned in & got political talk!!! It seems we are a dieing breed, no one thinks we want to listen to late 50s & 60s music! Glad I have lots of CDs with oldies from the 50's & 60's. I bought a bunch several yrs back that were offered on Time Life. It was a whole set & they were all remastered to get rid of the hiss. Sound great! Have quiet a good database of late 50's & 60s with a few 70's mixed in.
Comments: Sam, I suspect it wasn't drawing the required numbers. While it was good music, it was all "soft" rock. I'd listen to it for a while and then change to something that had a beat and tempo, some dance music. That seems to be gone now too. Should be interesting to see if KLUV widens it's play list for the "top 500" over the holiday weekend. In case you didn't notice 96.7 s still there. It is the FM station for WBAP AM talk radio now. Now, Jada, I don't think Sam or I scorned anyone. SNL, I'm sure I don't have any idea what you are refering to, but should there come a chill, it won't be the first time I have felt a chill from a lot of SOC women. Ah, memories!
Comments: The only place I can think of that would have the Big Chief tablets and Big Mo pencils would be Froggies, but I think they closed their store due to an astronomical price increase for their rent. Any one know if they have moved, or just out of business? Question two and unrelated. What happened to Ron Chapman's 96.7 FM station? They were playing songs from the 50's and 60's. All of a sudden they are off the air. Jodie Dean on KLUV 98.7 will not talk about the reason why they are off the air now.

Comments: Jack my friend... you are wrong! Why I can feel the cold chill forming around each of us girls with each add'l comment you & Sam make.   The ice can't be far behind.On a sad note, saw in paper this mrng where Art Linkletter died at age 97. He led a very funny & interesting life getting children to say the darnest things!!
Comments: Butterfingers, I would try and educate you to the sounds of sarcasm when detected in the female voice (Bovie has a world of knowledge in this area), but (1) it would mean you would actually have to listen to what and how they say it and (2) it would burst your bubble and have a deflating effect on you. So I won't "try and teach the pig to fly" and let you continue to live in your own little world. Sidebar to Sam: I have been tying to find both the Big Chief tablets and the Big Mo pencils for quiet awhile. I have even checked in the special education stores. Atlas, I fear they have gone the way of Richard Nance's favorite clothing item, the Nehru jacket. You gotta wonder if he still has that jacket. |
