Comments: Talked with Gordy late last wk & he wanted me to remind everyone abt his annual 4th of July party! I know several of you have come in the past & we've always had a great time. Lots of food & fun people! Ya'll know whre it is... same place you go to see the fantastic Christmas light dislplays!!!  Gordy's House - Sunday, 4th of July!! Dinner is at 5:00pm! Bring a covered dish & Gordy provides all the meat! He also supplies the plates, cups, utensils & tea. Hope to see a bunch of you there! Comments: Sandy Mc, there is probably a considerable surplus at the ranch. Perhaps Smiley will share it with the neighboring towns of Brownwood ... and Abilene ... and Rising Star ... and Eastland ... and Waco ... and ... [you get my drift].

Comments: Richard, I also have had a recent experience with a red-tailed hawk. Yuvonne and I were taking our morning coffee on the back porch at the ranch and watching it snow one morning last January. Suddenly a hawk flew directly into an English Wren, also in flight. The hawk was not able to grab the smaller bird but hit it so hard it broke its wing and it fell into the snow. Yuvonne has always had a soft heart and ran to pick up the shivering puff of feathers. I knew she was going to try to nurse it back to health and said " Von, we ain't keeping that @*&^$# bird". She turned and looked at me and said " Don't use that kind of language around the chilled wren". We released the healthy little fellow about two months later.
Comments: Hi Y'all!!! I'm back from hosting my 2 Grandkids from WY. We've been to six flags, played video games (forever), had watergun fights in the backyard, played in the sprinkler, cooked hamburgers and made smores, played Wii and made ice cream sundaes, played games and put together a 500 piece puzzle (well, actually Glynda and I are still finishing it up. I'm broke, sore and can't wipe this smile off my face. I already miss the little buggers but find the quietness refreshing. I won't EVEN try and join in the one liners. I think all I know have already been told. The ones left would cause me to get a chastising email from Sandy Mc and a beating from SNL!!!!! Richard, I have contacted PETA and the EPA and the Parks and Wildlife department regarding your possible damaging that poor Red Tail Hawk. We can not be sure that was rat blood. Smacking into that hard head of yours may have hurt the Hawk. The Hawk may have just been giving the rat a lift or taking him on a sight seeing tour of the area. They will probably place you in house arrest until they can determine who's blood was spilled. With those groups investigating, you better hope it is your blood! Thanks for missing me
