JS - Jim came up with the DOB & that led us to believe he wd be frm the Cl of 68.  I posted them a note on their GB.  I'm waiting for a reply.  Tnx JS!
The old "when you could start to sch" rule was that you had to be six before Sept 1st to enter first grade.  Of course there were a few who fell into that catogory & went to pvt sch & then straight into the 2nd grade.  Like Sally,Toni, Ada Ann etc!  They're the smart young Whipper Snappers in our class.   Me . . .  my b-day being in Dec,  I just waited a yr & therefore was among the oldest in the class!

Sandy Lynn, I notice Jack Thomas's birthday is 9/4/49.

That could put him in either the class of '67 or '68. What was the "rule" if your birthday fell after Labor Day?

With help frm Jim Young, I think we may have found which class Jack Thomas was from. We believe it to be Cl of 68.  I left them a note & hopefuly they'll confirm it soon.  Tnx Jim!

JS I better not be getting any bullones in my email. !!!     Congrats Dale & Yuvonne!

On a sader note, I Saw in the obits tda that a "Jack Marvin Thomas Jr." passed away.  Said he was a graduate of SOC, no yr.  Didn't give a DOB either, but said he was in Viet Nam & death was due to complications from exposure to Agent Orange.  That led me to believe he was an early to mid 60's grad.  I've checked the 63 thur 66 Dens but no luck.  Does anyone remember him or know what class he was from??  It's always sad when a SOC grad from any yr dies.

I received a call today from Smiley, out at his ranch. He and Yuvonne are just giddy about being "grandparents" one more time.

Dale went on to explain that his black & white faced cow had given birth to a cute little red bull (no relation to the power drink of the same description).

As they were having their morning coffee a group of turkeys strolled by and some dove paid them a visit. Life is good in the country.

Oops! Gotta go watch the Bachelorette (Dru makes me do it). Tonight Ali gets dumped by that four-eyed weasel Frank.

I had a wonderful week with my two grandsons - we visited CityScape, Nickelrama, went to see Despicable Me, visited Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Ft. Worth, and survived Celebration Station, not to mention swimming every day, playing Wii Mario Kart into the night!  We graced McDonalds a couple or times and made all sorts of food that I have never eaten!!  We made cupcakes and popsicles, and I got to watch my older grandson demonstrate his microwave culinary talents!   Then we attended my older grandson's team party Saturday night where we got to help watch Hudson!  Geez, we were so tired that we celebrated our anniversary at home!  We're going out to dinner tonight with some neighbors!!   Thanks everyone for the anniversary wishes!

Happy belated birthday, Annette!  Hope it was a great one!

Ronney, we need to talk about the snake situation!  If you drive by my home, you will swear it smells like moth balls....and it does...finally found a way to hopefully move the snakes out!  Found the latest one dead in my front yard with his mouth open!

Holt Challenges Texans to Raise $1 Million

San Antonio Spurs owner Peter M. Holt has challenged Texas residents to raise funds for the Education Center at The Wall and has pledged to match all funds raised in the state up to $1 million.

"Those of us who served in Vietnam will never forget the faces of our brothers who fought and died beside us," Holt said. "I strongly believe we should put faces with the names on the granite wall."

A Vietnam veteran, Holt served as chairman of the campaign to build the Education Center for a year and continues to take an active role on the leadership team.

Texas was the first state to pledge its support of the Education Center, when Gov. Rick Perry joined the leadership team in November 2008. On April 14 of this year, Texas became the first state to kick off its grassroots campaign to build the Education Center with an event at DFW National Cemetery, near where two Texans whose names are on The Wall are buried.

There are 3,416 individuals from Texas whose names are on The Wall. The Texas leadership, including Gov. Perry and Jay Kimbrough, state coordinator for the Texas grassroots campaign, are dedicated to gathering photos for every Texan on The Wall in tandem with raising funds for the Center.

Happy Anniversary, Toni and Bruce. Now, what kind of snake would you like for me to send to you as a gift? I thought of you, yesterday, while at work. Octavia, the Romanian woman working at Brooks Brothers was working on a clothing display. Suddenly, she let out some screams. I went to see what was wrong. She was up on a step stool. On the floor was a frightened, baby striped gecko. It was maybe an inch long. I had to catch it and put it into a container. Lana, a Mexican woman at Brooks Brothers took it home and let it lose in her flower bed. But, when I saw Octavia screaming over a harmless little baby gecko, I thought of you in the library at T.L. Marsalis Elementary School in the 7th grade. haha!!!!
