Place: Bayfield, Colorado Comments: I have been cancer free for right at 20 years and it really does feel great. I do not get nearly as nervous as I used to about annual check-up with oncologist. Hope everyone is staying well and safe. We are in Colorado enjoying the cool weather. Course from what I have heard it has been cool at home also. If we were there it would probably be 100. My daughter and her husband got here Tuesday about 3:00. About midnight we had to take him to the hospital. Thought it was kidney stones but they said no. he has a kidney infection and maybe an abbess. Hoping they figure it out and release him. Not much of a vacation.
Place: Rainy in Richardson Comments: Great news Paul. Been reading and hearing about the booster. I'm right there with you, tell me where & when . . . I'm there! Just like the vaccines for Flu, Pneumonia, Polio, etc., if there's a shot that will keep me from getting it, or only a mild case, I'm going to do it. Not going to risk ending up in the hospital and possibly dying. And yes, Carol C. is a warrior indeed! Stay safe my friends!
Place: Edmond Comments: PS. Only mild muscle soreness this morning. Since I am one of the first to get it, they wanted me to give them a “how goes it.” I will let them know…not bad at all.
Place: Edmond Comments: 32 years in remission. Way.to.go.Carol. You are a true cancer warrior!
Place: Overland Park, KS Comments: Cheering you on from the sidelines, Paul. 💕 Don’t know when the booster will be recommended for those of us whose immune systems currently are not compromised - (My breast cancer, chemo, and radiation treatments lie 32 years in the past.) - but I definitely will be in line for that shot. Be well, everyone. 💐
Place: Edmond Comments: Because I have cancer and am receiving chemo I was allowed to get my Covid booster today. I have the Moderna version. It is such a relief to have that covered. I don’t know how you all view the current situation, but the Pharmacist who gave me the shot told me this will probably be a long drill…maybe requiring annual vax like the flu shot and probably resulting in new variants with which we will have to cope. For what it’s worth, the sooner everyone gets the vax, the better. Cheers. Paul
Place: Richardson Comments: Wow, lots of B-days in Aug and the month is only half over! Must have been a cold November and December to have so many Aug babies. Happy B-day to each of these SOC friends and classmates! May we all see another year and may we all outlast this darn coronavirus!! I'm praying for a good Spring because right now things are on a downhill slide again. Please, get vaccinated and protect yourself and everyone you come into contact with. It's the only way we can stamp out this awful predator. Be safe everyone!

Place: Edmond Comments: Sandy, you do know how to make me smile. 😁. Thank you.
Place: Richardson Comments: Paul - You are special. I know you are looking forward to Sept when the chemo ends. Glad you are still able to smile about a not-so-good situation. Cheers! Oopps, I know alcohol isn't appropriate now, so maybe this photo would be more appropriate!
Place: Edmond Comments: PS. We have interesting celebrations. Last year I had chemo on my Birthday; this year chemo on our anniversary. Special, eh?
Place: Edmond Comments: Thanks for remembering me Sandy. Yes I am the baby of the group, although I am not sure anyone can tell a 72 year old from a 74 year old! As you can see, we are efficient. Anniversary one day, birthday two days later. 🥳. Again, thank you. Baby Paul
Place: Richardson Comments: Paul Scholte - - Happy B-day to you today!! I think you are the youngest in our class at the ripe ol' age of 72. Geez, makes me feel even older!! A wedding anniversary Tues & a B-day today, hope you are well and you and Kathy have celebrated in some way! Best Wishes kiddo!! |
