Comments: Ok - I am at the lake now - Dr. appts are over 3 1/2 hours at the eye dr. two speeds - slow and stop  Totally frustrating, espcially when the dr. said there was really nothing he could do. Her vision is just getting worse!They have removed the tube from Bruce so what they are doing is working but it will probably be Sunday before he comes home - which is probably good - it gives Toni one more day to get off whatever she has. She said she was feeling better but she does not sound it. She did stay at home today so that she could get better.
Comments: Mary Ann & I decided to go shop for antiques this past weekend. So, naturally we went to McKinney, Texas. I recommend Spoons and Rick's Chophouse for eating. Also, in Allen, Tx., recommend Brios, Mi Cocina and a few others at the Watters Creek development (pretty impressive; Hwy 75 & Bethany). I think the weather in Texas this past weekend was better than the heat wave going though Calif. at the time. Had dinner/drinks with the Litchfords...got into bar brawl with Carol over politics (she doesn't hit hard, but does hit low)....Mary Ann & Deryl just turned the other way.
Comments: That's a very profound thought for a Fri. Sorry it's rainy there, as it's a beautiful Fall day here in the DFW area. Sunny with a hint of coolness!!! You're right Ada Ann - I remember the people we were back at SOC, but quiet frankly, I like the people we've become better!!! We're not trying to impress anyone, we're all going thru the same problems & rough spots in life and we are more accepting and kind to one another. I love this group and wouldn't trade any one of you for any thing . . . well maybe there's Jack?  Ya'll have a great weekend & Hook "Em Horns!!!!!!!
Comments: I was just thinking (can be dangerous), but don't you like this time of life....we are no longer in a popularity contest. We aren't the athletes, scholars, musicians, etc....but we are all the same....take us or leave us....we don't have to change to be accepted. So that is my thought on this rainy Friday morning. Comments: Toni - Take care of yourself & get better quick, sounds like Bruce is going to need some extra TLC when he gets home from the hospital. Will pray the medications work & surgery isn't needed! Do keep us posted as we care & are concerned for both of you! Regarding Golf next Sat - Jack & KMD need two more friends to join them as Toni & Bruce are ill. C'mon, any of you who golf, please contact Jack Hawkins or Karen Melton Davis ASAP!! It's SAT Oct 9. Tee time 1:00pm.
Comments: Toni & Bruce -- Hope Bruce continues to respond to the treatment and he can go home Saturday. Toni, take care of yourself and get well so that you can take care of Bruce when he gets home. Prayers for both of you. Karen RL - Prayers for your mom and you. Donnie & Barbara -- Glad you had a good day in Napa; it's really beautiful there. Susan -- You don't want me to use your sewing machine.
Comments: Ok - I have talked to Toni & Bruce both. Toni needs to stay at home because she is caughing and everything - cold or sinuses - not sure what....the procedure that they are doing on Bruce is working which means, hopefully, that he is going to go home Saturday - barring any complications. I am off to take my Mom to the Dr. They think that she has a valve in her heart that is not opening and closing the was it is supposed to so they did a stress test on her and now they want to check the pressure on her eyes. I would think that if they correct the heart problem it woud correct the eye problem but what does Dr. Louton know!!!! lol 
Comments: Well today was a good day on our travels. Went to Napa Valley and finally headed to Bakersfieldaround 2pm. So far we have seen some incredibly beautiful country. Head into Phoenix tomorrow. Toni - you and Bruce are in our thoughts and prayers. Do whatever the docs say Bruce to get better.
Comments: Toni, please let us know about Bruce.... Susan, I don't want to use your sewing machine, but I would like to have dinner and visit!
Comments: So sorry to hear about Bruce. Karen, thanks for the info. Let Toni know we'll all be praying for Bruce and her. Susan, I would like to use your sewing machine too.
Comments: I have just gotten finished talking with Toni on the phone, and while Jack could not go into detail I can.....Toni took Bruce to the hospital this morning about 1:30 and he was admitted....they have both been sick but him being sick interferred with other problems that he had and they are trying to clear them up....if they cannot clear it up with antibiotics they will have to do surgery. He is in Presbyterian Hospital in Rm 741 if anyone would like to send cards. At this point they have told them that he will probably be able to go home on Saturday, unless he has to have surgery. Toni is at home changing clothes and trying to relax a few minutes....she is still not feeling well herself. I will let you know when I get more information.
Comments: For reasons beyond their control Toni and Bruce are not going to be able to play in the BMF golf tourney on Oct 9th. So if there is anyone out there who would like (or be willing) to join Blind Ambition and play with Tallcake Karen Md and me, please let me know ASAP!!!
Comments: Rod / Dale, hope you guys won't be disappointed, but I decided to go to Susan's house & use her sewing machine last night. You guys were in the running until she threw in dinner!!! Needless to say. . . Susan won out! Thanks Susan!!!
Comments: Ok Smiley - the guys at the FD think I am cracking up now...I was sitting in my office reading the GB and started reading your comment about the neighbor....needless to say started laughing...I agree...you guys just were not this funny in high school! By the way - Happy BD and Happy Anniversary to everyone that I have missed lately.
Comments: Well we left Portland yesterday and drove to Fairfield, CA. on our way to Phoenix. Going to take a little side trip to Napa Valley today. Be in Phoenix on Friday sometime. Sure will be good t back in the southwest and closer to home. |
