Place: Bosque County Comments: Paul and Sandy,,,, I totally agree with y'all. Like I said, Jimmie & I didn't have a choice to get a vaccine before we came down with Covid-19 and I am not about to buy it at Tractor Supply! My heart breaks for the ones like us who got it early and did not survive. I also hate how divided it is making our country. I am forever grateful that the emergency room doctor at Goodall Witcher Hospital prescribed what he did and when he did. We are a much smaller situation that all of you who live in the metro areas. My closest neighbor is not exactly next door. Our stores are not as crowded and Amazon, Fed Ex, and UPS are very good about finding us!! You guys be safe and maybe we can all get together soon.
Place: Richardson Comments: You are right Karen, there are different types of Ivermectin. Some for humans and some for animals. I was referring to the one people were buying from Feed Stores that's meant for animals. It's too strong for humans! Was meant for large animals. ABC did a piece on the difference. I'm so sorry you & Jimmie got the virus last yr before we even had a vaccine. That's how Connie McKee died last November, no vaccine available yet! Glad y'al'ls case was mild and not too serious. I know there are people who have been vaccinated & do all the right things but still get the virus. Usually it's a mild case without hospitalization. This is just a bad situation for everyone and unfortunately some have made it about which party you support. Thank you for sharing your experience and how you got better. Very thankful for that.
Place: Edmond Comments: Karen, Thanks for pointing out that there is a way to use Ivermectin properly. I had not heard that. All of us can learn something new. I still stand by the main focus of my post: Do the right thing for all of us, not just oneself.
Place: Bosque County Comments: I feel like after reading all the latest posts that I must chime in. First of all, Jimmie & I have both had the vaccine. Second, Jimmie & I both have had the virus,,last September, and we found out all of this by going to our local hospital, being tested by a Dr. and when proven positive, prescribed IVERMECTIN - the human version that won a Nobel prize in 2015. No we didn't take the animal buy it off of Amazon version! We both ended up with very very light cases of COVID-19. I wouldn't dream of taking the non prescribed version. Ivermectin has been used for years in other countries and is very inexpensive. I hate to see it get such a bad rap when it helped us so very much. There, I've had my say.
Place: Richardson Comments: Thanks James for update albeit bad. So far, I personally know 3 SOCites who have died from Covid. None of the 3 had been vaccinated. 1 from SOC '66, 1 from '64 and 1 from '67. Breaks my heart because it didn't have to happen. I'm still praying Glenn makes it. Heck, who am I kidding . . . I pray each night that Don and I and our families all make it thru. Getting harder each month.
Place: Carthage, TX Comments: Sandy it sounds like Covid and on his FBook it said he was taken to ICU yesterday.
Place: Richardson Comments: Paul, I fully agree with you. How insane is it that we have a group of people who refuse to be vaccinated saying they don't know what's in the vaccine or don't trust the government. Yet, they will buy animal medicine used to de-worm horses & cows and take that!! Lots of calls to Poison Control. I don't blame you for being upset and frustrated, I am too! Too many people taking a stance that "Nobody is gonna tell me what to do" and many are dying due to their misguided decisions. We could have gotten this pandemic under control but too many arrogant and Me First people aren't participating and it just keeps on coming and mutating. I'm tired and I'm really frustrated at the whole thing. What a way to spend our senior years.
Place: Edmond Comments: I hope I am “preaching to the choir,” but going through the cancer battle that I am (which also makes me immunocompromised) I feel I deserve to be heard. If you are someone, or know someone, who refuses to get the vaccine, tell them it is not all about THEM. Just ask the parents of the kids in California whose teacher infected 22 out of 24 of the kids with Covid. Or the overworked ICU staffs who are watching people die every day and 90+% of those are not vaccinated. Or the people who serve the public who cannot work for 10 days because a client/customer exposed them to Covid. As a 40 year Air Force member I can tell you this is not the America I served for. The one I served for is filled with people who care about each other and admit it is not all about ME and my RIGHTS. And who do not give a de-worming medicine for animals credence over a vaccine that has been given to millions. If you are thinking this must be a “hot button”issue for me you would be right. But this has gone too far for too long. 😡
Place: Richardson Comments: James, Does he have Covid? Because he's being given the REDEMSIVIR treatment made me think he has Covid. This is another blow to the class of '67. Folks, you can't be too careful. It's striking SOCites all around us. Will send prayers for Glen. Thank you James.
Place: Carthage, TX Comments: Just copied this off of FBook about Glen Averitte. Class of ‘67. Glen is in Mansfield methodist hospital room B-3081 ....Glen is being sedated with PRECEDEX Because each time he comes to he goes into a full blown panic attack which has exacerbated his decline. His last REDEMSIVIR treatment was yesterday. Glen is in need of a miracle so all of his friends and family need to get on their knees and pray pray hard he needs some miracle in Jesus name
Place: Richardson Comments: Toni - Thanks for the info on Bob Snyder's passing on 9-2. I missed his obit in the paper. So many of our teachers weren't much more than 10-12 yrs older than we were in our Jr & Sr yrs. I guess at that time they seems old?! Lunch was great, enjoyed it very much! Also, thanks so much for the nice magazines for my MIL, I really appreciate it! She will love them.
Place: Richardson Comments: Larry, Bill Jonas died in May but just now having a memorial for him. Buddy told us of his passing on FB. I saw the nice obit Sunday. Bill is one of several the class of '67 has lost in the last few years. You may also have known Mike Logan, he golfed with the group too. He passed away in March. 67 is going thru a rough patch of loosing classmates recently and it's difficult. Our class went thru that a few years ago and it really hurts to lose good friends. Hope you & Ramona are doing OK as we haven't heard from you lately.
Place: Kessler Park, Dallas Comments: As if there were not enough bad news, there was obit in this morning's DMN for Bill Jonas, class of 1967. Does anyone else have any memories of him? I know he loved to play golf. |
