Oops!  Sorry to have missed the NY get-together at Uncle Julios.  We were waiting on the repairman to repair our furnace!   Happy belated birthday to all of those I missed.  Glad to see Don's brother doing so well and Donna well enough to be home.  Happy Anniversary to Shortcake and Cubby (again)!  Last but far from least - Happy New Year to all!

Old Year Out

Before you flip your calendar
To start a New Year bright,
Reflect for just a moment on
The year that ends tonight.

Each joy and every heartache
Has been etched into your heart,
But in a few short hours you
May make a brand new start.

As you review the days and weeks
That simply seemed to fly,
Would you say fortune smiled on you
Or did she pass you by?

The TAX Man Cometh

Happy New Year

Well Don - I am in the Hill Country also and we are really enjoying it.  The weather has been great - yesterday in the upper 70' - today in the upper 60's.   Going to a party here at the RV park tonight so will not be driving anywhere and our RV is really close to the party barn so we also don't have to walk far.  Everyone stay safe if you are going out.

Happy New Year SOC 66ers

See you in 2011!

SNL - I'll copy & e-mail your reunion note to all the vets on my list.

Donna - Very glad you made it home 'this year' & prayers continue for your recovery.

Susan - I have a f/u appt w/my orthopedic surgeon next Fri. to discuss that option.  I can hardly wait to feel 'like' 40 (or 50) again - thanks for the info.

My brother, Doug, hasn't worked full-time since being diagnosed w/cancer in '07.  But, he's in remission now and will start his new IT project mgr job this coming Mon.  That's the same day I return to work - and, he'll be just upstairs from me at the VA Austin IT Center - what a blessing!

Kathy & I will be staying home to enjoy a bottle of champagne & hill country fireworks after dinner this evening.  We send our sincere best wishes to all for a very happy, safe & prosperous New Year.

Congrats JD on your retirement. I'm loving every minute of it. Sarah has plenty of stuff to fill my day. I've been retired for 9 days and don't miss a second of driving to work and stressed out. Have fun.

35 working days until the end...and can't wait. Sam...you can say what you want about retirement...but I can't wait, even if I decide to teach college business courses for a couple of semesters the stress is less and that is what I'm trying to escape.

This is wishing everyone a belated happy BD and Anniversary...and to all may 2011 be better than 2010 and may we all see each other in September. Happy New Year everyone.

Don, I highly recommend the back surgery.  It's not the same as "in the old days".  Find a doctor who will do a minimally invasive surgery.  The scars are tiny and recovery time/pain are greatly reduced.  But you have to do everything the doctor says.  You won't be 30 yrs old again (or even 40), but you'll feel like it.  Or at least you won't be in as much pain as you are now.
