Place: Texas Comments: Good job Larry and Virginia. John, thanks for sharing. It should inspire the rest of us to do a little "walking/running."
Place: Richardson Comments: TNX JS! I read abt Larry Macon in the paper but didn't make the connection to Virginia until you posted it!! Wow, kinda makes us all look like couch potatoes, doesn't it!
Place: The Woodlands, TX Comments: Let me also add my Birthday Greetings for young Jimmie Hughes. And a note of congratulations to Virgina Macon whose older brother re-entered the Guinness Book of Records on Dec. 31st for setting a new world's record for the most marathons run in a calendar year. He finished his 106th marathon of the year on Dec. 31st which was also his 66th birthday. During 2010 Larry ran at least one marathon in each of the 50 states. When you think of the airfare, hotels, rental cars, meals, shoes, entry fees etc. - that takes some serious cash! In that same race, 52 yr. old Yolanda Holder finished her 106th race of the year, garnering a new women's world record (the old one was 101). It's a good thing Larry finished the race because otherwise folks would be saying "blah, blah, blah AND he got beat by a girl!". Here is a Jan. 1 pic of Yolanda and Larry: ![]()
Place: 67er Comments: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIMMIE HUGHES.....and , many many more. Have a fun day !!
Place: Texas Comments: Happy birthday to Jimmie Hughes -- hope that your day was wonderful, and happy anniversary to Karen RL. Don glad that your brother is in remission -- what wonderful news. I am reading the book "Unbroken," by Laura Hillenbrand (wrote "Seabiscuit." It's about Louis Zamperini's (Olympic runner) life and his experience in World War II. It can be difficult at times to read, but is inspiring regarding the human spirit. I'm not finished reading it yet, but highly recommend it. It makes me thankful for our soldiers and their sacrifices to keep us safe.
Place: Richardson Comments: Oh what a beautiful day & it's gng to be sunny all week. It wd be perfect were it not for the fact I'm here at work! ![]()
Place: San Marcos, TX Comments: Happy BD Jimmie Hughes - Hope it was really really great. Still out of town and celebrating with friends - plan on stretching this out as long as possible. See you guys later.
Place: LV, TX Comments: Better late than never - Cowboys 14, Eagles 13, in Philly - nice finish, at least. Their QB sub, McGee (?), showed some nice scrambling this evening & had the highest number of rushing yards for a game since Troy was at the helm.
Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Jimmie Hughes, today !!! Jimmie - We hope you’ll be celebrating a great one today & that Karen will spoil you rotten, as usual, right? Best wishes for many happy returns!
Place: Richardson Comments: Judith, I checked our '66 records & we do not have a Frances Hatcher. Was Hatcher her maiden name? We did have a counselor names Frances Hatcher, but no student, sorry. But if Hatcher was a married name, give me her maiden name & I'll ck it. Toni - bad time for heat to go out!! Hope he fixed it since we had 25* here last night!!
