Place: LV, TX Comments: KMD - Great video clip featuring your dad & others - thanks for the link. I hope to be nearly as alert if I manage to reach anything close to his age. It's a good reminder for all of us to get photos & memories in order, while we still remember who, what, when, where & why. I have many of my folks old photos & letters, but wish I'd gotten them to elaborate more about other family details while they were still here.
Place: LV, TX Comments: H a p p y B i r t h d a y wishes go out to Eileen Sandefer & Bovie ‘The Kid’ Browning, for 2/23 (a few min. early)! Place: Richardson Comments: Don & I are back too. The Charity buffet dinner at BJ's had a very good turnout. The food was great . . . what a spread! Enjoyed the company & glad to see such a good turnout for two great charities!
Place: Sachse Comments: Thanks to all here on the GB and on Facebook for the nice comments about my dear old Dad's TV debut. It was a great thing they did for the residents and they all thoroughly enjoyed participating and offering up great "stories." JD, I think we were all toddlers at one time. Mike and I just got back from BJ's in Mesquite where many of us congregated to support the BMF Project and Guns and Hoses. The food was outstanding and many thanks to Barb for topping it all off with that heavenly dessert. You and Donnie are the best.
Place: NYC Comments: Karen, That was one of the best things I have seen in the news EVER! Thank you for posting it. Everyone was really enjoying the stories and the end result of the work. I sure enjoyed hearing about it.
Place: 66 Wisconsin Comments: KMD...I didn't know you were ever a toddler...OMG did I say that...help me Jack...KMD has a GUN!!!

Place: Connected!!! Comments: I'm back!!! Tech from PC House Call left few min ago. Matt was great. He know immediately what the problem was . . . my new HP Printer!! You see, the new printer, (which also faxes & scans) has an SD card slot. My pc is more than 5 yrs old & it doesn't have an option that allows me to keep pc from reading the SD slot on the printer. Therefore, pc is trying to read it instead of the string it's supposed to in order to fully boot-up. He sd newer pc's have an option you can select so it won't do that. Simple solution - make sure my printer is turned off before I turn on pc! Then I can turn it on. He also fixed several other problems I'd been having & my pc now runs as good as new!! PC House Call is a good company we've used before, reasonable charges too. They're just down the st from Jack in Richardson!
Place: bigD Comments: a great story Karen, I enjoyed it. My daughter is into scrapbooking.
Place: Sachse Comments: Hi Guys. In the previous post I made, there is a link to a news article and (if you scroll down in the article) there is a video of an interview with senior citizens featuring my Dad, John Melton. He is the one in the bright yellow pullover. The feature aired today on local CBS channel 11 news. It is about how scrapbooking can preserve memories and a volunteer group from Eastfield College helped the residents at Christian Care Center to do this. There is even a shot of me in a photo with my Dad holding me as a toddler. Thought I would share this with you all.

Place: 66erville Comments: JD, I have always been fearful when I was in a room with those two ladies. But now I know their weakness. All I have to do is carry a blender/pitcher with me. That'll confuse or panic them enough to forget about me. Look forward to seeing you there, Barbara!!
Place: Dallas Comments: Rosemary, hope you have had a great BIRTHDAY week!!! Just wanted to let ya'll know that I will be at BJ's tonight starting at 5:30 and will have tickets there. Hope to see you tonight. They are going to have a great buffet with Chicago-style pizza, salad and other great foods as well. Alcohol drinks are also happy hour prices. They also have great homemade root beer. See you there!!
Place: Sachse Comments: Happy Belated Birthday to the lovely Rosemary Z. I hope it was one of the best ever.
Place: 66 Wisconsin Comments: Mr. Hawkins, if I were you...I would be very careful about what & how you say things about SNL & Ms McM...these two are lethal women. Especially Ms McM...she is a very strong (physically) woman. And if you don't believe me go and take another look at her grandson Eli...he is only 3 or 4 months old and weighs a ton. Not only can she lift him but she can throw him in the air and catch him just for kicks...to you and me she can do much much more...and I don't want to see you get hurt...lol!!! |
